This book is really good in helping someone with deep rooted fear and anxiety. The fear imprisons one's mind like the pictorial of the girl in a jar. It delves on root causes of this such as our childhood experiences or feeding into the imaginary fears which leads us to live in survival mode

The fact that the book seeks to address irrational fears is amazing. This is because not all fears are bad, and indeed there is a reason for some of them, as for instance, fear of fire would keep us safe. The instances you, @Emily_Jen, have included in the review demonstrate the dire consequences of irrational fears and hence it is good that one is guided on how to address them.
The book is on my to-read shelf. Many thanks for the fascinating review.

Thank you for your review. I read the sample. The author kindly talks about what fear is and why people have problems conquering it. Many sad people have talked themselves into mental and physical problems. This is a wonderful book to help people to overcome fear, live better, and be happier.

It is true that we all live in survival mode, just like "The Irrational Fear Cure" by Teri Smith-Pickens details. The constant thought of the future, plans for the future, and self-perception issues are all responses to buried fears.

I'm not sure I understand the meaning of obsessive-compulsive behaviour during childhood, to deal with irrational fears. I do know children copy their parents' behaviour and one will often find that someone's fear of e g. spiders, stems from a mother or father displaying the same fear during their childhood. I'm sure this book will be a great tool for people who need it.

"The irrational Fear Cure" really relates with my life story. Fear denies one so many opportunities in life but when you depend on God all becomes well.

"The Irrational Fear Cure" seems to provide a good perspective on OCD and phobia. The girl trapped in a jar out of fear of a spider is a vivid descriptive picture of what it feels like to be trapped. I think I would have liked to read it if it weren't religious-based.

'First, the colorful pictures that were included at the start of each chapter were not only refreshing to see, but they also prepared my mind for what was to come.'
While this book seem to have a sensitive content, I appreciate that there are pictures.

Reading The Irrational Fear Cure by Teri Smith-Pickens honestly felt like someone finally understood the battles inside my own head. I found myself really connecting with Mia — the way her fears seemed so overwhelming but also so deeply human. And when Dr. Reynolds guided her through those breakthroughs, it almost felt like I was right there in those sessions, learning alongside her. This book didn’t just explain fear; it gave it a face, a voice, and most importantly, a way through it. It’s a story and a toolkit all in one, and I’m grateful I found it when I did.
