One woman's journey to spiritual awakening sounds inspirational to those who would like to embark on their own spiritual awakening. I find the five aspects "community, gratitude, optimism, present moment awareness, and a sense of purpose" as the foundation of happiness interesting. In many ways, I agree with being grateful with both the positives and the difficulties in life, but I can this being challenging for someone who has lived a more difficult like than me. It's great to hear that the book has exercises to work with fear and anxiety - I'm sure many can relate to that. Too bad about the inconsistency when it came to spirituality. I also find it difficult to wrap my mind around how nature "obeys" people and that we have the same power of Jesus. Overall, not sure if my mind is open enough for this text, however, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the thorough review!

You know, that is really how I experienced this book. I appreciated the positivity and lightness even though I don't share all of the author's beliefs. Thanks for the comment.

This book will indeed strengthen my Christian faith. Matters of faith are metaphysics and it would take quite a while to understand the picture portrayed. But we can all agree that some situations in life are beyond our human understanding, we need a leap of faith. Life can be so difficult especially if we don't have anyone to look up to but the author encourages that all the time Christ is always with us and we should look up to Him.

Interesting indeed! I'm still riled up that her body emits light and all. Thanks for the review. This is certainly not the book for me as it clashed with my faith. I guess I'm not open minded!

Thank you for your review. I found it very positive and thorough. It looks like this book contains several good points on health and wellness such as Cranial/Sacral Therapy and Acupuncture for physical health and where it says “Loving who you are is the most empowering thing you will ever do for yourself, your life here, and those around you.” for emotional health. However, it misses the mark in my opinion on spiritual health. As this book may interest many people who are on a search for personal wellness and inner healing, it is not of interest to me.

I am not impressed by this kind of spiritual books. It doesn't look like a book I would read.

I'm interested in the area that focuses on "present moment awareness." I think I tend to dwell on the "what ifs" and "what could/should haves" way too often, which then steers me away from the purposeful path I'd been walking.
I am with you on that! Practicing present moment awareness has been so useful and comforting for my person path. If I am focused on now, I spend much less time dwelling on the past or feeling anxious about the future. I so appreciate your thoughtful comments. Thanks!

I share your perspective on this. Thinking out of the box has led to some beautiful and mysterious changes in my life. Thanks for stopping by!

This was a great review. I do believe that this will be a great book for those who are real spiritual people as well as for those who have tapped into their gifts or want to learn some things that can aid them on being able to tap into it. I do like the thoughts of being gifted and maybe being able to know how and or utilize it. But, I don't believe I will be adding this book to my list of want to read books.

rusyalana wrote: 10 Aug 2018, 10:39 Spiritual and motivational books are not my cup of tea, but several ideas presented in the book appeal to me, like we ourselves invite different circumstances to our lives; we should not rely on other peoiple but value and trust our own intuition; love and happiness can help us overcome a lot of problems and others. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!
This really was an uplifting book. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Thank you for your all-encompassing review of this book. Since I'm going through a time of change and self-reflection myself, I can really relate to the themes in this self-help guide. I've read the first few chapters, and am anticipating reading the rest. Caarna's theory of inner light is very insightful. Thanks also for the background information on Caarna herself, I couldn't find a bio on her. I know she gives information about herself in the book, but your review explained her history in an easy to understand way. A definate addition to my bookshelves!

CambaReviewer wrote: 10 Aug 2018, 10:45 Nice detailed and insightful review. I am quite close minded about religion especially when the practices described sound unbiblical so I am afraid I will not be checking this one out. Dark cupboards...inner light affecting the elements? Cheers!
I certainly understand your misgivings. There were definitely some elements in the book that were difficult for me to buy in to. Thank goodness we all have the freedom to voice our beliefs. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
