The book was actually good with its pacing. The tension, plot introduction, and world building were all superb. I was so curious to know the outcome of the quest.

As a Nigerian and a lover of history, one thing I agree with that the novel nailed excellently was the narration and infusion of historical events. Although the relation of the Israeli mission to the political issues in Nigeria was new to me, everything other thing resonated well. There was no better way to get readers grasp the situation.

The author was good with his story. It is one thing to narrate a true story and another thing to narrate it in an appealing way.

"Quest: Finding Freddie" by Thomas Richard Spradlin is the gripping tale of Mr. Spradlin’s brave quest to find Frederick Nachman in 1976 Lagos. It is a fascinating mix of adventure, humor, and deep cultural insights. This real-life thriller captures the political tension and historical richness of the era perfectly. Congratulations on being BOTD!

Thanks for your detailed and thoughtful review! Your insights into the historical context and the author's writing style are greatly appreciated.

Spradlin's "Quest: Finding Freddie" seemingly offers a journey through the complexities of 1970s Nigeria. With meticulous detail, the author seemingly leads readers through the search for Frederick Nachman, weaving in historical events and political intrigue. Spradlin's humor and engaging narrative style appear to make it a compelling read, while his sincerity and attention to cultural nuances seem to enhance the story's authenticity. From character development to educational value, this book seems to have a captivating story and rich exploration of Nigerian history.

This is an intriguing book, based on the true events of a prominent businessman’s disappearance in Nigeria in 1976 but with the names changed. The protagonist is easy to make a connection with. I liked his humour and proactive attitude.

Wonderful review! It was very informative and has convinced me to read the book. It sounds like something I would really enjoy. What caught my attention was when you mentioned, "This book was so fascinating and intriguing that I finished it in only a few days." This tells me that the writer has the ability to captivate the reader, which is a sign of a great writer. I will definitely be adding it to my to-read list. Thank you for your thorough review.

The time frame for the story was during the glory days of Nigeria. when the country's economy wasn't so bad. While reading, I was quite surprised to find out that the Nigerian naira was higher than the dollar in that era. I realized the drastic changes the country has undergone over the years.

I had no idea there was a time when the US dollar was worth less than the Naira.
This book presents a very niche episode of Nigerian history, but its specificity doesn't make it any less relevant. The religious, cultural, economic, and political aspects at play add depth and complexity to the narrative. Plus, a little humor is always a win in my book.

Thank you for such a thorough review!

I like your review. I do like historical nonfiction and will be adding this to my reading list. I do not know much about Nigerian history so I'm looking forward to reading and find out what happened during Mr. Spradlin's search.

I’m glad that you found this to be such a good book. It is unfortunate, however, that so many countries refused to help find Mr. Nachman. The details probably make it even more interesting. Congratulations on BOTD!

Great review! Very thorough! The book sounds like it is very interesting and you learn a lot about Nigeria. I have only heard bad things about the country, so I'd like to discover more.
