Review of The Ultimate Love
Have you ever imagined a life without your most loved ones? If a person you love the most suddenly passes away, what would you do? The Ultimate Love by Sherine Anniruth is a nonfiction book which tells about the grief of a mother after losing her son. Have you ever thought that your loss could make you creative, and by that you could calm your mind while being a pillar of strength to many others? The Ultimate Love is a result of Sherine Anniruth turning her pain into words.
The language used in the book is absolutely heart touching. The introduction itself inspired me to read the book until the end. "I'm a bereaved parent who wishes there was a term like orphan or widow to describe my status. Some say there is no such title because the death of a child is too awful to put into words" This is from the introduction of the book from page 3.
Through the book The Ultimate Love, Sherine Anniruth talks about how she felt when she lost her son, Nadeem and explains how she slowly started recovering. She tells what should be done in order to feel better. To make the reader understand that there is a way to recover though it takes time, she has used a simple language which can be understood easily. "One baby step at a time makes lemonade from sour lemons". This is from the page 134 and one of the quotations which caught my eyes.
While making the reader curious about how her son, Nadeem died and how old he was when he left the world, Sherine Anniruth provides answers to every question and consoles the minds of the readers by being someone who understand their sorrow. The writer not only gives hope, answers and console who are in grief, but also reminds all of us to love and value the presence of the loved ones who are still with us.
Sherine Anniruth clearly states that it is okay to grieve and that it is essential to feel better. She gives value to the feelings and gives a helping hand to come out from the dark spot. I took the following phrase from the 116th page and it shows that what a bereaved person feels can differ from person to person. "Only you know how you feel. You are the one wearing the shoes, and only you know where it pinches." Also the colorful pictures with quotations add much more meaning to the concept of the book and I could enjoy them while reading.
The Ultimate Love is a well written book and i think it can be considered as a handbook to people who are in grief. I loved every chapter from the beginning to the end in this book and there is nothing that I dislike about it. This book is professionally edited according to my knowledge as I came across only few errors while reading it. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars as this book gave me strength and courage to face any loss in the future. I highly recommend this book to anyone regardless you have or have not gone through a loss of someone really close.
