"Born to Rise" is an inspiring autobiography that tells the incredible story of Lorna Blake, a woman who faced many difficulties but managed to find success and happiness. Coming from a poor family in Jamaica, Lorna had to deal with poverty, abandonment, abuse, rejection, and mistreatment from a young age. However, she didn't give up and moved to Canada as a teenager, determined to make a better life for herself.

Throughout the book, we see Lorna’s journey as she deals with being a single mom and works hard to get a college degree in social work, despite facing many challenges. With strong faith and determination, she not only graduates with honors but also finds love, becomes a successful motivational speaker, and helps her community in various ways.

The main themes of the book include resilience, determination, and following one's dreams. Lorna's story encourages readers to face their own challenges head-on, tap into their inner strength, and go after what they want in life with confidence.

"Born to Rise" is a truly inspiring tale that resonates with readers on an emotional level. Lorna Blake's journey is a testament to the human spirit's ability to triumph over adversity, and her story serves as a source of hope and inspiration for all who encounter it.

There are many things I like about the book; one of them is its raw honesty and authenticity. For instance, Lorna doesn't hesitate to talk about moments when she felt lost or overwhelmed, such as when she faced poverty or struggled as a single mother. By sharing these personal experiences, readers can relate to her on a deeper level and find inspiration in her ability to overcome adversity. I also like the inspirational quotes included in the book, one of which is “Never stop learning because life never stops teaching.” Each chapter concludes with assignments designed to encourage readers to reflect on their own challenges, obstacles, and opportunities for growth.

I dislike nothing about the book; it is exceptionally well edited. I will rate this book 5 out of 5 stars, as it delivers a powerful message of resilience and hope while offering valuable insights into the human experience.

In conclusion, "Born to Rise" is a must-read for anyone seeking inspiration and encouragement in the face of life's challenges. Lorna Blake's story reminds us that no matter how difficult our circumstances may be, we have the power to rise above them and create the life we deserve.

We seek to know ourselves and others, to belong and to be free, We accept what we can and change what we must.

Being a single mom is one of the most difficult situations one has to handle during there lifetime. It's even worse when your family is way across another continent and doesn't even care about you. She is a strong woman to have made it out of the life she had.
