I definitely agree with you on both points here! The first couple of times that it came up I thought it was funny, but it got really old quite quickly when it was so much of the book, and the one or two that involved children were very uncomfortable!

I don't think it reduced the quality. However, it got boring after a while. After the first few sexually suggestive poems I had had enough. And for someone such as myself who enjoys erotica from time to time, that's saying a lot.
