Out of all of the books I've read--and out of all the authors, the first one I had ever read every book they'd written would be Cassandra Clare. To this day she is one of my favorite authors. Her work is fun and upbeat, badass, hilarious, full of love and seriousness, and the stories are just wonderful overall. I would very much recommend her books to people of all ages; there's a little bit for everyone in there, guys, girls, children, adults...they are some of the best books I've ever gotten my hands on, and, if you do read them, read them in the order they came out. They make more sense this way, and then one won't get spoiled.

I, like you, started early. Beverly Cleary was my addiction. I had to know everything about Ramona the Pest-her family, her pets, her friends.

Alexandre Dumas: I read the Three Musketeers and quickly went on to read the entire five-book saga. The Count of Monte Cristo is another favorite. These books also lead me to the swashbuckling novels of Rafael Sabatini, so I owe a lot of my taste in literature to Mr. Dumas.

That would be Francine Pascal as I got obsessed with the Sweet Valley Series in high school. Right now, I think I read all of Dan Brown's novels.

In the 3rd grade I discovered The Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne and fell in love with reading. I read all of the books she had out at the time.

Had to be Stephen King, after reading Salem's Lot. Brrr! Still get cold chills when reading his work. So well-crafted.

I would say John Connolly. There were many other authors before him, like J.K.Rowling, or Terry Pratchett, or Neil Gaiman, or Laura Joh Rowland. But with them, things seemed to enroll more slowly. With Connolly, after the first book of his I read, I went on a shoppin spree, buying each and every of his novels, translated here so far.

I highly recommend the James Patterson Maximum Ride series. I started out reading James Patterson as a teen. They just released the last and final book to that particular series for sale. The first book I read by James Patterson got me hooked. They are usually young adult/adult books but I read the whole series recently and I love the characters and the story line. It's basically about a group of kids who were genetically engineered with Avian (bird) DNA and they have to save the rest of the kids in the world that are being genetically engineered in labs, they become kind of famous super heroes. There is a little bit of romance and violence but nothing too serious. Here is the series in order:

1) An Angel Experiment
2) Maximum Ride- School's Out Forever
3) Maximum Ride- Saving The World And Other Extreme Sports
4) Maximum Ride- The Final Warning
5) Max
6) Fang
7) Angel
8) Nevermore
9) Maximum Ride Forever <- Brand New and Final Book of the Series!

:D Enjoy!

The first author which i read their entire works was the british horror/chiller writer James Herbert. My father used to read him, and so i started reading his work from a very early age, probably about 7-8 years old, despite the fact that his books are immensely adult themed. I didnt read anything by him for years, but then re-discovered him around age 21, and then proceeded to buy all 23 of his novels of amazon in the space of a couple of months. I probably read no more than 2-3 other authors in between reading them all. Some are better than others of course, some of his later work was a bit, 'same old sh*t', but there is no denying his talent. His sudden death in 2013 truly broke my heart. RIP James Herbert, a HUGE inspiration for me.

Frank L. Baum, author of the first Oz books. I've got most of the books in the series (38 or so) and many of the graphic novels. Baum was a decent writer, but his followers were not so good at grammar and sentence structure. Still, I loved them more for the marvelous places and weird creatures they created, as well as for their emphasis on friendship among the characters.

Mary Higgins Clark, because her books are suspenseful and keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page and I still read her books
