Wow, this question takes me way back. I graduated from high school in 1987. Yeah, I'm old! Anyway, during my senior year, we had to come up with a senior thesis. I compared the righting of Edgar Allen Poe with that of Ray Bradbury. At that time in my life, I was going through a dark phase. When most people were looking to the prospects of college and careers, I was lost and confused about what I should do with my life. I was in a melancholy state of mind with fantasy of science fiction. Anyway, in order to compare the two, I had to read a lot of books by them. Just about everything! Although I am much better with age, these two authors will always hold a special place in my literary heart.

Stephen King. I was given 3 of his books for Christmas when I was in the 7th grade and I was hooked. I think the first one I read was Firestarter. After that I couldn't stop buying them. The bookstore I would go to didn't carry many King novels so I would make requests and they would order them for me so that I could keep going.

It was J. K. Rowling, I couldn't wait for all the books to be translated in my language so I can read them, so I read the last 2 in English.

I guess J.k. Rowling, but that's inevitable if you're a HP fan.

Sarah Dessen books always captivated me in my teen years. Now my 14 yo sister enjoys them!

Right now? It's Alexander McCall Smith. His books are delightful. I have a smile on my face the entire time I'm reading one of his books!

Me too! I actually read the entire Austen collection when I was pregnant with our oldest daughter. All these years later, she's certainly the most Austen-esque of all of us. I think she absorbed the culture in-utero :)

Carolyn Keene! Though I only recently learned that Keene was the pen name for a number of different writers who created the Nancy Drew series. As a kid, I made it through the entire series reading one per day.

Nowadays, I'm making my way through Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's books. So far my favorite is Americanah.

Carolyn Keene! My grandma bought me the box set of the first six Nancy Drew books for my sixth birthday present. I immediately devoured them. I set it as my mission to finish the entire Nancy Drew series. I read them all in order, and I still remember the exact moment when I finished the last book. It was such a bittersweet feeling.

The Nancy drew series, was my favorite childhood series growing up. I had to get my hands on every single book.

I have to read all of Cassandra Clare's books! I have so far read them all, and I am really close to owning all of her books that involve the Shadow World. She is still writing and publishing books so I am here waiting for more!

Hello,
My first author that I had to read 'everything' by was V.C. Andrews growing up (not an easy thing to do when this author(s) has written over 90+ books!) I never did read them all, but I did go through quite a lot of them, some of my favorite still reside on my shelves! The next author I felt this way about was Amelia Atwater-Rhodes- who built such lovely worlds to reside in. I could not get my hands on the rest of her books fast enough! I am still captivated by them today and lie in wait for 4/12/16 when her next book "Bloodtraitor" comes out!

I read a couple of books by Cecelia Ahern and ended up loving all of them so I quickly realized I HAD to read all her books and I did and I liked all of them. :)
Cecelia Ahern writes books about everyday things like relationships but she also adds a little magic to them.
