Jane Austen. I read pride and prejudice in 7th grade and never stopped until I read all of Austen!

Way back when, it was Dean Koontz. But now that my tastes have changed, it's Colleen Hoover! I'm obsessed. She's so great.

Edward Abbey. I was devastated to learn that he died about the time I finished reading his 3rd or 4th book, because my to-be-read list would run out at some point and never grow longer!

Timothy Zahn's Dragonback series. I still read it every now and then - it is amazing.

V.C. Andrews. I started her books when I was in 9th grade and quickly started to find everyone I could find by her.

The first author that just had to read more of, because I couldn't get enough of him was Wilbur Smith when I was 15 years old. My recommended that I start with When the Lion Feeds, The Sound of Thunder and A Sparrow Falls - all of them follow Sean Courtney and his adventures.
I love how well researched Wilbur Smith's books are.

I would have to say John Green. Once I discovered him I read all his books back to back. I couldn't stop myself. I was in love.

Knowing how I work, there was probably several as a child but that is far too long ago to remember :D, however as an adult, the first author I can remember actively searching out was Sidney Sheldon.

Jodi Picoult and Mitch Albom. One took me to another place, the other helps me cope with my mothers passing.

J. R. R Tolkien. I devoured all his books and unfinished work when I was a kid.

I remember scouring the YA section at my local library for everything by Sarah Dessen. I read Just Listen in probably about 8th grade and really connected. The first real books I read were the Harry Potter series, though, which I'm sure many people list as their first "everything."

Definitely Jodi Picoult! When I happened upon My Sister's Keeper, I just had to find more of her books. I think I've read just about every one of them and find each one of them fantastic. She picks topics that are either really hot or controversial and creates incredible stories. They almost always end unexpectedly. I did watch the my sister's keeper movie and was so angry they completely changed the ending!
