Almost everyone wishes they find love at some point in their lives, but what happens when that love isn’t as rosy as books make it seem? When you find out it isn’t all jokes and pleasure as you thought it would be? That’s what H.M. Irwing’s book is all about.

Heat talks about two lovers finding an endless, fierce passion for each other. Raphael Luis Brown, a commander in the military, abused and raped by Eric Dayton, his former commander, and Anna Simmons raped by her boyfriend, Matt Preston, his brother Jason and his father Peter. Both victims of abuse, drugged and raped, they decide they want to have a future with each other, healing and saving each other from their adversaries, both the ones outside and the ones within, their nightmares. They decide to confront their abusers head-on and hope to win the battle. The plot thickens when she also finds out she is sleeping with one of the Prestons brothers. Will love be able to conquer it all? What happens when they find out they’re not the only ones seeking retribution and want to laugh in the face of their enemies?

Heat is book two of the bad boy vibes series showing revenge, hate, abuse, trust, betrayal amongst the characters in the book. My favorite character in the book is Suzanne Smith. She’s brazen and spiced up the novel just when things were getting intense. The author did a very decent job bringing her at the time she brought her. I can’t find a favorite part in the novel because I love each part, each scene in the book. The storyline wasn’t predictable. What I appreciate most is that the book is that it's written in third-person narrative revealing what the characters are thinking and doing at all times. I like the pacing of the novel, builds anticipation in the reader. The characters are developed suitably, creating a life-like character, making the reader invested in them. I also like the writing style of the author. She was able to effectively tell the story and convey the message.

All in all, I enjoy reading the novel. I couldn’t find any particular thing I dislike about the book. Found a handful of errors, but it wasn’t anything that confuses. My rating of the book is 4 out of 4 stars. The book is professionally edited and it’s for mature readers only. The book contains lots of profanity and a few erotic scenes. If you enjoy romance novels, then I’d recommend this novel to you. However, this isn’t your stereotypical romance fiction but I can assure you you’ll love every moment of the book. I am now a fan of the author and her works.
