H.M Irwings’ Heartaches 2: Bad Boy Vibes, is the second book in the series of Heartaches. The two other members of this trilogy by H.M Irwings are Heartaches 1 and Heartaches 2, which are the first book and the last book respectively. Before I can say much about this book, let me hit the nail on the head. This book, although thrilling, is not meant for young readers as it is swamped with various erotic scenes that can pollute their minds.

This story is set in the province of Queensland, Australia. This book is hinged upon love and romance. These two dominant themes are the cornerstones of this story. Two main characters prop this story, Anna Walters-Simons, and Rafe Brown. Anna had swallowed bitter pills that life had earlier on prescribed for her. She is now struggling to recover from the devastating effects of these life challenges. Anna had suffered at the hands of her own lovers. Rafe has equally drunk from the cup of wrath that life had handed him. The two warm up towards one another and engages in love. I believe their love is fueled by the fact that both had undergone a dark past. They see their new-found relationship as the only redeemer.

Anna’s former lover treats her like a harlot. Protons and Eric rapes the duo. Once Rafe and Anna unite, their mission is to work against their enemies, who had earlier on mistreated them. Will they really succeed in their mission? The story sees Rafe Brown returning to Australia from the war in Syria. Rafe is happy to meet Bella who is his aunt. Meeting his old dog equally makes him beam with joy.

There are several things that made me love this book. Since they are many, I was only able to highlight the major ones. I liked Irwing’s use of turns and equally twists in the story. They engaged me throughout as the story unfolded. Indeed, I was captivated fully. They cannot fail to engage and hook readers. Thanks to the author’s style. The strong character development of Anna and Rafe was also awesome. The author initially introduces Anna as a very week character but he, later on, develops her into a strong character. Like a lion on the Serengeti, she is very aggressive with her former oppressors. She, therefore, pursues them.

The well-developed plot is also healthy for the story. I liked her inclusion of the local dialect, Queen’s English. It serves as a spice to the story making it tastier. I loved when Rafe was very bitter to pursue his enemies but he later gives up on his target. I would recommend Heartaches 2 and the entire Heartaches series to readers who love reading romantic books. Since the story was well written and edited, I gave it 4 out of 4 stars rating. You can get your copy on Amazon. Readers can as well connect with the author through her website.
