I rate the book Heartaches 2 by H.M. Irwing 4 out of 4 stars. I didn’t notice any typos, so it seemed professionally edited. I went ahead and read book one prior to reading this 2nd one. That way I’d have all the back story that lead up to book two. I enjoyed the entire dynamic between all the characters in the story. The author truly goes into depth about the inner struggles each character can have after having gone through such horrible traumas.

It makes it real the struggle that people can have inflicting pain on others. Whether the pain is unintentional or purposeful or spiteful…it hurts. This book brings that fact to reality in a raw and uncut way. It put the looking glass on the way that these hurts can make everyone feel. It brings to light the way miscommunication can affect everyone’s lives. It intensifies how much lives can change because of the pain and miscommunication.

This book is very real and raw. It made me aware of aspects and sides of things that I’ve never even considered. The characters found love in pain and healed one another as a result. Or did they? It truly keeps you guessing and confused as to how to feel. It makes justice in these sorts of situations very real as well. Both sides of this coin have very complex details that you may not see right away with the naked eye. You begin to think you got it, and then you totally don’t get it. But, that form of guess work keeps it extremely interesting for the reader.

I’ve read a lot of books. However, the diabolical underhandedness of the antagonists of this story is unmatched by any I’ve read up to this point! It reads like a television series in my head, which kept me enthralled. There were so many unexpected twists and turns, it kept me on my feet. Do not assume anything, is what I learned. This book will appeal to those that are interested in love stories, and BDSM.

This is a story of love. A story of pain. A story of redemption. A story of acceptance. A story of justice and betrayal. A story of revenge, lust and passion. It has proven to be an exceptional read and a riveting and eye-opening journey. I am excited to see what the next book will bring. It feels as if I’m growing and evolving with each character. I’m getting a glimpse of every one of the characters from the inside out.
