Heartaches 2- Bad Boy Vibes is Book 2 in the Bad Boy Vibes series by H.M Irwing. Rape and its psychological and emotional effects are the main focus of this book. With both Rafe and Anna victims of rape, they find strength in each other to fight their rapists. Their love is the much needed catalyst to bring down the evil Eric Dayton and Peter Preston.
The story begins with a fight between Rafe and his rapist, Eric Dayton. Rafe leaves Anna after a startling revelation has them reevaluating their relationship. Anna and Rafe are happy when his Aunt Bella is getting married but the joy swiftly turns to despair when they find out who her intended is. They do everything they can to convince her not to get married to no avail till they meet the delectable Suzi who suggests an unusual help. Pat has to reveal his sexual preference to his uptight parents after they try to engage him to Rachel Andrews the sister of tech billionaire Dan Andrews. A quagmire arises when Pat finds himself attracted to the wrong Andrews sibling.
I liked that all the characters were easy to like. The biggest credit to Heartaches 2- Bad Boy Vibes for me is how engaging it is. I couldn't put the book down till it was finished. I kept wondering what happens next and couldn't wait to find out. Pat is my favorite character, he is that gay best friend every girl wants. The banter between Pat and Anna is hilarious, providing humor to the gloomy situations they find themselves in.
There was little not to like about Heartaches 2- Bad Boy Vibes. H.M Irwing does a good job of relaying her story, I could find little or no faults. The erotic scenes seemed incomplete and hard to follow. Also I wish Dan's point of view was included in the story. He seemed like a character that had more to say than he was allowed to.
Irwing is an excellent writer, She effortlessly excels in her use of imagery. Reading the book, you can almost see the events unfolding in front of you. The way she writes with the narration from the point of view of the differing character allows us insight into the recesses of their minds. I found just two barely noticeable mistakes in the book. Heartaches 2- Bad Boy Vibes ends leaving the reader waiting for book 3. The suspense kept it interesting which is why I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It doesn't deserve a lesser rating because of its accurate portrayal of the plight of rape victims. Heartaches 2- Bad Boy Vibes will appeal to everyone who enjoys romance, suspense and action. It is an immensely satisfying read you won't regret or forget in a hurry.
