When I was first trying to get published I looked into self publishing on LULU. I found that it was really hard to figure out how many books a person sold. So you may find it hard to get an accurate account of what royalties you have coming to you.

Our neighbor is useing American online publishing ????? company. He likes it and they don't want money up front. They are as close as you are going to find to a publisher without the hassle.

Just a thought.

Given that I am able to ensure quality control in my own work, I would not mind giving self-publishing a shot at some stage, but only if I can ensure that I have an effective marketing and distribution infrastructure in place.

As I had mentioned previously on this portal, product development (writing a book) is the easy part. The most difficult part is marketing and distributing the product (the book).

Years ago, self-publishing was almost certain to break your heart at a silly cost.

Some of the newer ideas sound very interesting. Thanks to those who have contributed them.
