Re: Review of Mona Lisa's Daughter

As much as this book was amazing, emotional, and educational, it has its downsides. It's something that would affect readers that don't know the Italian language, like myself. They would find it difficult to read out the names and several short sentences, which some weren't translated, that were written in the book. It might also be taxing to follow the three stories interspersed in it. These are the reasons why I would remove a star from my rating. I commend the excellent editing of the book. I rate it 4 out of 5 stars. I recommend the book to those who want in-depth details about the events of World War II and its effects in Italy.
I understand, but I actually enjoy alternate timelines. They can be a great narrative tool when done right. And Belle Ami always combines my favorite topics: history, art, and mystery.
Thank you for your review.

The sample read is engaging. The review is interesting and engaging. I have added this emotional and thought-provoking read to my TBR. It is upsetting that her mother, a woman, considers having her daughter married off to the same person.

I'm literally tearing up just from reading the review summary! I can feel the emotions radiating from the pages. Valentina's story is already breaking my heart, and I'm not even halfway through the sample! I can only imagine how emotional the full book will be. I'm hooked and I need to know more about Valentina's journey. Warning to anyone who reads this book: have tissues ready! I'm already emotionally invested, and I know I'll be crying buckets by the end of it.

This makes me real curious about the unlikely connection between World War II Jews and Italian artist Da Vinci. Can't tell how Valentina's story ties into all of this, but I'm sure I'll find out as I continue reading this BotD!

Congrats on BOTD!
Belle Ami's "Mona Lisa's Daughter," which connects 2 timelines—the Florentine Period and World War II—sounds like a gripping book. Valentina, the main character, strikes the reader as a strong, courageous woman whose narrative is motivational.

"Mona Lisa's Daughter" by Belle Ami is a powerful narrative that resonates with the struggles of many, like Valentina, who have faced abuse and manipulation. Valentina's strength and resilience are truly inspiring, and I believe this book has the potential to empower and inspire readers to fight their own battles and triumph. A compelling review that captures the essence of the book!

The review makes this book compelling, but also disappointing, as there are parts of the book written in a language I cannot read and that are not translated. Thank you for your informative review.

The horrors that a human being can bring upon another are always unimaginable, but it would appear that the evil, unethical ones are also looking for a little reason to make the others suffer. I am happy that Valentina overcame her traumatic past, and the fact that her mother had plans to have her marry Dante must have been another horrifying experience. Many thanks for the amazing review, @Alissa Deann Devargas.

One can find in-depth details about the events of World War II and its effects in Italy by reading the book "Mona Lisa's Daughter" by Belle Ami. The story follows Valentina, a beautiful girl who didn't pay any attention to a handsome guy.

I thoroughly enjoyed the sample of Mona Lisa's Daughter. Valentina's desperation and the pain she endured from her mother’s fury over her condition were deeply moving. Her emotional turmoil upon arriving at the convent was palpable, and I could empathize with her sense of isolation and rejection. I felt genuine concern when Emilia cast a judgmental glance during the thunderstorm, fearing that Valentina might not receive the compassion and care she so desperately needed.

It was a great relief to discover that Teresa and Maria welcomed her with warmth and kindness. Their gentle reception provided a comforting contrast and offered hope for Valentina's journey.

The author has successfully infused the script with a sense of historical authenticity. The references to Leonardo da Vinci and Mona Lisa add a layer of intrigue and mystery, enhancing the story despite its fictional nature. The vivid descriptions evoked the imagination of the scent of old books and ancient manuscripts, transporting me to the setting as if I were walking through a timeworn library.

I am looking forward to read more.

The book sounds really interesting - gripping and poignant, especially with all the suffering Valentina endured. I'm also curious about how Leonardo da Vinci's story connects with the events in the book. While historical fiction and war-themed books aren't my cup of tea, I still want to say congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Oh, I feel for Valentina, it's so sad she had to pass through such emotionally, mentally, and physically degrading events in her life, but I am impressed with her resilience. The way the Jews were treated by Hitler during WW2 was so disheartening. I love your review well done.
