Thank you for your review. I read the free sample of The Blacksmiths daughter on Amazon and am taken with it. I enjoyed the authors writing style also, I agree the book does seem like it is being told from memory. It does seem well written, and I would like to read the rest. I will be adding this one (and the other two) to my want to read list. Your review was fun to read. :D :D :D

Jbcitygirl wrote: 27 Apr 2019, 16:03 The first 17 chapters consist of events from almost a thousand years ago. The remaining chapters catapults you right back into the present day and age into the midst of a covert CIA operation. I was somewhat disappointed with the abrupt change to the current day, as I was just really settling in and enjoying the narrative around the Knights Templar. When I reached the end of the book, I was absolutely delighted to discover that this book is the third book in a series!
It sounds like the book is about different timelines following the reincarnation of the characters. I like how you mentioned that the author wrote well and drew you into the story. I also think that I would feel the same as you about being disappointed by being jerked back to the present day after liking the story from a thousand years ago. But then, this may be a way for the readers to keep reading in hopes of returning to the previous story. Even though you mentioned that this book could be read as a stand-alone, it seems like it would be better to read the books one and two first. I wonder if Serena, Desiree, Ian, and Jacques' character stays the same in all timelines.

This is a fantastic review, great job. The premise of the book sounds exciting and riveting. The aspects of history, adventure, and a little romance, seem perfect! I will be adding this to my TBR right away.

I don't usually like historical fiction because I could not feel the vibe of the past as the author described it. But based on the review, it seemed like it would be different this time. I am intrigued by the book cover and the plot as well. Congrats!

The knight's templar who don't seem to age piqued my interest, and I love the idea of an ancient library. I like that the author went to such lengths to make the reader feel a part of the story. I just purchased this book, and it's open on my Kindle now. Thank you for your thorough review and glowing recommendation. Looking forward to an enjoyable evening read. 💕

I love some of the descriptions you used, especially ones such as when you described Desiree as "breaking the glass ceiling." Your review is well written and convincing. However, I personally did not enjoy the book (sample), but had I not read it previously, your review wuld have convinced me to give this book a try. Excellent job!

It is great that the book seemed professionally edited overall, despite the spelling and spacing errors that you found. I am glad that you liked reading the book. Congrats to the author on the 4/4 rating.

Wow - "a captivating, imaginative masterpiece"? That sounds like quite the high praise! I think it's interesting that the author has decided to tell a historical fiction piece about how the Knight's Templar began. The Templar library does seem like a great place! Adventure and treasure sound like fun, and I'm glad the author has made this story seem realistic and that your experience was authentic. It's too bad that the time jump seemed a bit disjointed, but it's good to know that the author made this into a stand alone. Not sure how I feel about the scenes of passion, but it's good to hear that it was done tastefully. Glad the spelling and spacing issues did not distract you from enjoying the book. Thank you for sharing!

When I first started reading the first chapters of The Blacksmith's Daughter, I was kind of bored. The story confused about the characters, and how they all fit together in the story.
Then by chapters 4 and 5, I was intrigued and was bummed when the free sample was over.
3 out of 5 stars.

Although this book doesn't seem like one I'd read, your review really shows me how exciting the book really is! I'm curious about that description of the Templar library you spoke of, and all those treasures. Thanks for the review!

What I love about the bool from your review is how the author have made past and present come together and the concept of semi-immortals is just so intriguing.Thank you for describing the book in such a beautiful manner. Congratulations on BOTD!
