The sports culture within Torrid Hills is just one of many dogmas imposed by society (in general). Otherwise I think this is a very interesting book for curious readers. Thanks for your concise review.

The complex father-son dynamics in Torrid Hills intrigues me. I can't wait to see if Arnold breaks the cycle of abuse in 'Billy Jones's Father And the Apple Tree' by Fred Engh. A must-read for anyone interested in sports and family relationships.

Though I am not a sports person, I like family stories and this is an inspiring one. Great review!

Sometimes, it's hard to train with someone who pushes you to your limit, but the end results are worth it. Aspiring sports coaches will learn how to handle their students from this book. They mean well for the development of one's potential. Congratulations on the BOTD.

This seems like an amazing book filled with suspense. I cannot help but hope that Billy will be given the right attention from his father. I cannot wait to read this book.

Thank you for the great review. I did enjoy the sample, but after reading your review it sounds like the whole book is interesting. I will add it to my list of books to read. I am curious to know if Arnold is a good dad. Sometimes children become just like their parents and sometimes just the opposite. I was a little surprised about Arnold and Sara getting married. It will be nice to see how that all came about and what Scott thought about Sara.

This review gives a lovely context of all the stories within one overriding theme. It reveals just enough to want me to pick it up. To me it’s not about the sport but about generational patterns of behavior that are so easy to replicate unless otherwise consciously erased from your natural behavioral tendencies. Well done, a lovely review

Parents and coaches may have ambitions which could harm children and jeopardise relationships. Mounting pressure on kids to follow one's footsteps is detrimental in their development. Rather, imbibing the interest proves better. Congratulations on winning BOTD.

The book's tone and mood resonated with me as well. Despite the presence of sensitive and serious events, there was a delightful touch of playfulness throughout its pages.
- I'm a big fan of that. If one wants his/her story remembered, it must be told in a delightful, playful way. I loved the review just as much. Thank you.

Your review was well-written and engaging. I found the sample pages were rather riveting. I thoroughly enjoyed the narration style and was eager to continue reading. Arnold's emotional torture at the hands of his parents was distressing. Congratulations on the BOTD!

Billy is such an amazing father. The fact that he didn't thread the same path with his father is plausible. Congratulations on the botd!

I have never read a book on sports prior to now. Hence, I am anxious to read this book already. I am certain that there is a lot to learn from the manner Arnold trained his son, Billy. It's good that he didn't follow the steps of his father, who kept belittling him.

In a typical situation, a father is a significant source of motivation and encouragement for his child. Fortunately, Arnold has the opportunity and freedom to raise his son uniquely, and hopefully, he will positively influence his involvement in sports and life in general. I find this book impressive and eagerly anticipate learning more about Sara's incredible support as a partner. Thank you for a thorough review.
