I'm not interested in historical fiction, so I'll have to pass on this book.

I love a good character-driven story and for what I can read in your review this book seems to be one of them! I am not quite fond of baseball at all but reading about the bonds formed between the characters made me want to give it a try.

I like how authentically Lara Reznik described the world of the 1960s. I also like that Maris and Mantle somehow filled the void in young Marshall Elliot's heart. I like that the characters are unique and striking, especially Roger Maris.

I am a huge fan of historical fiction, an inspiring book especially for teen male readers. A well written book.

I love the book's use of switching perspectives to tell the story from the lead characters' perspectives. It's also impressive that the author managed to incorporate historical events into telling this fictional story. It made it appear real.
Marshal's character is a promising one and I am glad he got the support he needed.

A nicely written review is what you have here.

I've read another of Ms. Reznik's books. If this one is half as good as that one, I'll be a happy camper. This is definitely going on to my to-be-read list. Congrats to Ms. Reznik on her achievement!

Such an intriguing book. As a baseball fan ,I think I would enjoy this. I would like to see how Young Marshall's life would unfold and the impact of the baseball players in his life. Thanks for a great review

This is a fiction story of unlikely friendships, which includes true-life events.there is a wonderful execution of the characters. Each of them brings something unique and relatable to the story, Her excellent recreation of the suspense at the games was engaging.
The review is great.

When I started reading the review, I was heartbroken for Marshall due to his parents' behaviours. But when I read about him developing a great relationship with the 2 popular baseball players, I started to have hope for his future. This seems like a great read.

I love historical fiction but the 1960s don't seem like historical fiction to me since those were my teenage years! This sounds like a book with a lot of diverse and interesting characters! Thanks for the great review!

If only some fathers knew how much children especially sons crave their love and attention. It is said that some children watch their friends enjoy this relationship to the fullest. Elliot sought this. His relationship with the baseball players is inspiring. This review has piqued my interest in this endearing tale of friendships, baseball, and relationships. Congratulations on a great review.
