I agree with this! My mother made me memorize the following quote, "the beginning to the end of war lies in the act of remembrance." So true - and it has forever stuck with me. In my opinion, the Holocaust was the most shameful episode in our history and testimony of what monstrosity are capable and how horribly low can sink human beings. I am extremely proud that none of my ancestors stand by and let it happen without a fight, but at the same time I heard enough of their tales to never desire to read books on this subject.
