I am a fan of historical fiction but this book doesn't pick my interest at all. I would be skipping this. Great review!

The first few chapters are well written, but the constant threat of torture is hard to tolerate. Thank you for the great review of a difficult book.

It is good that this book brings to life, all the evil that happened before the Islamic revolution.
Because most of what our generation knows about, is the brutality and cruelty of the current regime.

The story sounds good, but I find it hard to read books with that much violence. It disturbs me.

When you've heard it on the news and then read it in history books. It is kind of fascinating when you get it from a narrative of this nature. Its like you are getting it from an insider. Good job.

Thanks for the review, but I'm not interested in reading about "the social and political circumstances culminating in the overthrow of the Pahlavi dynasty and the replacement of the 2,500-year-old Persian monarchy with the Islamic Republic of Iran", so I won't be reading this.

Although it is apparent this book is filled with action and suspense, I will have to pass on reading it. I don't enjoy reading novels that have a lot of cursing, and the torture scenes sound horrendous! I don't care for violent content. I do appreciate your excellent review! It gave me the information I needed to make a decision on reading, or not reading this book! Thanks!

This sounds like a very well-rounded piece, and it seems like there are many complex themes going on. It also seems like a good introduction to Iranian history and Middle Eastern conflicts. Thanks for the review.
