I am a fan of historical fiction but this book doesn't pick my interest at all. I would be skipping this. Great review!

The first few chapters are well written, but the constant threat of torture is hard to tolerate. Thank you for the great review of a difficult book.

It is good that this book brings to life, all the evil that happened before the Islamic revolution.
Because most of what our generation knows about, is the brutality and cruelty of the current regime.
Nice review.

The story sounds good, but I find it hard to read books with that much violence. It disturbs me.

Your review is thorough and informative, thank you. The novel carries a heavy and horrific story. I appreciate that it reflects reality and we all get to know this inhumane history.

When you've heard it on the news and then read it in history books. It is kind of fascinating when you get it from a narrative of this nature. Its like you are getting it from an insider. Good job.

I don't think this book is for me. Sounds like a tough read, so I'll pass on it for now. Great review though!

Thanks for the review, but I'm not interested in reading about "the social and political circumstances culminating in the overthrow of the Pahlavi dynasty and the replacement of the 2,500-year-old Persian monarchy with the Islamic Republic of Iran", so I won't be reading this.

Such a beautiful detailed insight about our history. Thank you so much for the information that is so rare. We really need to know where we come from to know know where we headed.

Although it is apparent this book is filled with action and suspense, I will have to pass on reading it. I don't enjoy reading novels that have a lot of cursing, and the torture scenes sound horrendous! I don't care for violent content. I do appreciate your excellent review! It gave me the information I needed to make a decision on reading, or not reading this book! Thanks!

The Pahlavi Sword is a Novel Book which unfolds the story of The Pahlavi Sword, a young handsome officer who finds himself at risky odds with his immediate supervisor. He is branded as a fugitive of the law, which compels him to forge a fragile, unlikely alliance with outlawed, anti-regime resistance fighters and political organizations, including the communist-learning Tudeh Party. More revealing story continues to unfold.

This sounds like a very well-rounded piece, and it seems like there are many complex themes going on. It also seems like a good introduction to Iranian history and Middle Eastern conflicts. Thanks for the review.
