The purpose of the book is to contribute to the poetry of "social responsibility" by means of its ability to "keep us loving and calm, and that in itself seems to be a necessary and sufficient pre-condition (& post-condition) to life." Following an essay on poetry and society, the book's content is split into three sections: Section I: America; Section II: Middle Years in India; and Section III: Beginning in the United Kingdom. The greatest purpose behind all of these writings was to use love to "keep us all together in peace." Seen in a larger context, is poetry not the fuel that keeps us going?

As I read, it occurred to me that the poetry collection might have something to do with the author's personal life. "Our" was frequently mentioned.

How interesting, that a book to help you on your spiritual journey does so with poetry. Poetry often leaves a lot for the reader to interpret. Poetry means what it means to the reader. Because of this, this book should be helpful to one who is searching for meaning. Thank you for your informative review. :techie-studyinggray:

Drawing from personal life experience seems to infuse these poems with an intimate, relatable quality. Makes sense that grounding in the author's own story would help readers connect more profoundly.

Your review described the book thoroughly. I am not religious nor do I love poetry, so I probably will not be reading this one. However, for those that do love poetry, this book sounds great.

Very impressive to the author! I read the sample and I enjoyed each page. The writings speak of soulful matters through poetic form.
I feel that the best poetry is the ones containing timeless pearls of wisdom and this seems to fall into such a classification. Also, the author's personal journey within the poetry has truly enhanced my understanding and interest for poetry.

I love how the author managed to squeeze loads of meaning into a single line. Writing poetry is no joke, but this author killed it with some seriously cool lines. After diving into a bunch of them, I'm feeling the vibe of the poem called "The Source of All Things High." It kinda hit me with a reality check through those lines. Thanks for your review and opinion; it definitely deserves 5/5!

Thank you for your detailed review of Sameer Pendse's poetry collection Looking Inwards: A Journey into Turiya. I see poetry as a way of exploring life's different aspects. Reading your review and the sample pages from Looking Inwards, I think I would enjoy reading Pendse's poetry. I like the inclusion of our contemporary life, and the dramatic and significant changes like climate change. And I like the balanced approach to the spiritual and material aspects of life. This is the type of poetry that makes the reader reflect on their life. Congratulations to Pendse for BOTD!
