i would drink myself to death
and still laugh at my deranged reflection
i see my poor hideous self
gradually embracing delirium
i have lost my sense of fear
since that drunken confrontational day
i only ever regret asking
and subconsciously knowing
the inevitable moment
of losing the rights to love you
under the golden Delhi sun
