Ive been considering a tattoo for 4 years but as I cant seem to pick a design I doubt I'll ever do it. You just dont want to go into something like that without being 100%.

Tattoos are a way of expressing one's feelings and oneself. It's art for the body. I think tattoos are fine if they have meaning to you or someone else. They are permanent, so you have to be happy with what you get and make sure you absolutely want it otherwise don't get it.

I plan on getting a tattoo one day in the future. It's going to be on my left shoulder and a quote from a song. It's going to say "Don't count the miles, Count the I love yous". It has special meanings to me. It will represent my family and friends who are far away, even those who have passed on.

Some people get tattoos, just to get them and be a part of the group. Others get them to stand out. Whatever the reason, It's your reason and nobody else's. It's also your choice and your body, so nobody should have a say in whether or not you tattoo your body. The same thing goes for body piercings as well.

Saw a french tattoo that I liked very much "Non mon Cirque. Non mon Singe." (Not my circus. Not my monkee.) May have to get it :)

A tattoo that I think is awesome is the goddess Rhianna has around her rib area. Of course one has to be small and perky to carry it off. If I were thirty years younger the singer Eve has some cute paw prints on her chest...

Someone at work had paw prints starting from her shoulder going down to her ankle. They are abysmal, badly done. It could be quite cute on a smaller scale!

Is she trying to tell the world she's a doormat?

Some women don't know how to be any other way...as Picasso said : " Women come in two categories : " Goddesses, or Doormats "

With Eve it's just two prints around her cleavage area...I dunno Suzi, if a guy loves a woman he loves the tattoo's and birthmarks and the whole package, it's what makes us unique perhaps?

WRONG!...W/ALL due respect our " God-given UNIQUENESS " comes from WITHIN... 8)

not to mention that the men i know are TURNED-OFF by tats.................Soooooooooooooo YOU enjoy yours, and i'll enjoy my unmarred / virgin skin............ 8)

Btw, your comparing " birth marks " to tats is a comparison that has no merit....( how'd ya come up wthat one ? )

Suzy,

There is no reason to be rude.

You are happy with no tattoos. Many here...myself included...are just as happy with tattoos. Not everyone believes in God and many that do pray to different deities (this is a global forum). And we are ALL unique...whether or not we sport a bit of ink. Although the men you know may be "turned off by tattoos" there are many men who feel quite the opposite...my late husband was one of them. Wide sweeping generalizations are seldom accurate.

Birthmarks are "like" tattoos in their permanence, (...although now both can be removed...) I suppose. Otherwise, I would find a tattoo preferable, as we can choose the placement and design of a tattoo.

Live and let live.

Oh...and TRUST me...I have never been mistaken for a "doormat"...lol

As a cat-lover I could see a few tiny ones spiraling up a calf, perhaps...that could be cute :) Not on me...my motif is roses...but I could see it being cute.
