I live in a little neighbourhood that just happens to be near a shopping centre and some transport routes; for that I'm going to be punished. The State Gov. here has taken over Local Council restrictions and developers are starting to carve up the suburbs with large ugly boarding houses right next door to little one story cottages like mine. The building application for the one next door to me is 3 stories high!!! (yes, that's right) and going to take most of my sun.I have a north facing garden with roses, daisies, vegies, herbs, fruit trees etc. I will be left with 3 hours of sun in Winter and that is probably on the back fence! And this is legal and council cannot refuse the application under building height or such.....We are fighting this but it really needs to have the legislation changed at State level. How f(*&^& dare they take my sun!! The very ironic thing is ...in the guidelines for these monsters they state that one communal room must have at least 3 hours of sun per day!!!!!![]()
That's sad it's disappointing what governments can do "in the name of progress". I don't know how it works where you live but in the States we have a law called eminent domain and it give the government the ability to seize your home and property giving you "fair" market value for it all in the name of progress. This progress includes commercial, low income housing, roadways, or they can determine that the area you live in is urban blight. There is nearly nothing that can be done about this.
I'm not sure what is worse having to move or having to live somewhere when you're no longer happy. Okay that may be a stretch I'm sure losing ones home is devistating.
When you're grateful to them for giving you the things you should already have anyway, ask yourself why."

I actually found myself watching The Social Network last night ... what a crowd of self absorbed, anally retentive, shallow & thoroughally unpleasant characters! My God if these are the future movers and shakers it will make for a pretty unpleasant world.

"Omg, you're so amazing. Don't ever change! </3"
Oh my god, It's just like a stack of nonsense.. It's like, no one cares.. Inbox them or something.
In fact, any of my male friends hardly do it. And if they do it, it's to their "girlfriend" or something. I don't know what's up with that.
