Thanks Hsimone! Actually, I noticed that another member reviewed the book after me. That review is categorized in Adult Fiction. However, I looked on Amazon and the book is still classified under Children's Books, although it's also listed under General Humor.

I'm a little uneasy about this being in the children's genre. I would suggest adult just because of the title but that is my opinion. I like how it's in a rhyme, but the structure makes it seem like a continuous thought. Thank you for your honest review.

Thanks for the review. I've seen cases where the book somehow ends up in a different category to that initially intended (if you upload it originally in an account, sometimes something seems to get lost in translation when the book is placed in other Amazon stores) but it should not be in a children's category. But it sounds amusing for parents. Or for the children we once were.

I can't imagine any parent picking up such a book for a child! Maybe a teenager? It could be a "fun" way to get into those serious conversations that parents of teens need to have.

I've read - and listened to Samuel Jackson's audio version - of Go to Bed, Damn It, and I think it's supposed to be a parody for adults. I hope it's just an error in categorization going on here and that it takes its rightful place alongside the other book mentioned above.

I did a double-take when I saw this book title listed under "Children's Book". Sounds like a good idea for a comedy... but maybe not so much a children's story? Nice review

Maybe the author is being sarcastic by saying it's a children's book? Maybe the author thinks parents should just tell it like it is to kids. If my grandsons asked me what a crack whore was, I would simply tell them it's a person that does bad things for drugs. If they ask what things, I would tell them all they need to know is they are bad things and they are too young to know anymore. Would I read this to them at two and one? No. If I lived in an area where drugs are sold right outside my door and we see crack whores on the way to the Piggly Wiggly, then yes, I might read it. I would change up the language a bit. The message is important.

I agree that a book like this should not be intended to children. I think that part of the issue here is that we dont think it is appropriate for our children.

Unfortunately, I have been to stores where parents or an older sibling will say things like that and worse to the small children in their family or allow them to listen to music with questionable lyrics.

I think it all depends on what you normalize in your family unit. Sad, but true.
