I was a bit thrown of by spanish part of the title, thinking that book is written in it. What a relief it is just original name of the island where action took place! Because thanks to reviews I really desire to read this fabulous multi-genre series in their whole.

Great review! Am sure I would enjoy it. Supernatural and detective work are some of the genre of novel or movies I love, now having both together would be very intriguing.

Although I love murder mysteries, I am not interested in reading a novella linked to a series that I haven't yet read. The intro to the book gives the impression one might feel lost for a while due to all the missed information by missing out on the previous books in the series. The fact that the couple is heading to their honeymoon destination means I've missed out on their relationship development. I would definitely need to start at the beginning in order to get to this novella.

Sounds like a bad Scooby Doo episode. Island of the dead and gold voodoo glasses, that was enough for me to pass on this book. Thanks for the great review!

Thank you for your detailed review. I am glad you mentioned this book is part of a series. I was very confused with the prologue. I didn't understand it was supposed to be a summary of what had already happened in previous books, so I'm happy you cleared that up for me.

The book certainly has a peculiar name for a place where one would opt to honeymoon. Despite that, the positive review really got me captivated. A brisk but not overwhelming pace, interesting twists to the plot... A thriller with supernatural entities.

I am a fan of romance novels, so I would have chosen to read this book assuming that it is a romantic read - judging from the images on the cover. Having read the review, I do not plan to continue reading the whole book because I do not like horrific books. Detective Jonathan Miller finds himself working with a voodoo priestess and other spirits to help him clear off his name that has been linked to numerous deaths in The Island of the Dead, this sounds challenging.

It's definitely my kind of book, murder mystery with elements of the supernatural. I can't wait to read it. :techie-studyingbrown: Great review. :tiphat:

The book seems to be good. By using just enough details the author has made the book short, so that readers who don't like too lengthy novels too could enjoy the novel. Use of supernatural events and violence make the book more thrilling. Even if the groom is a detective, the fact that a newlywed couple would go to an island like that for their honeymoon is a bit impractical. Some authors who write series of books end a book without finishing it. So it's great to know that this book can be read as a stand alone novel as well.

Miller's view by Marlene W Potts of the C/T/M//H genre. As usual, this book contains a mystical content and the protagonist character MIiller with his wife goes for the honeymoon on a dead island where he was caught in a violent scene but he has mystical glasses with strong powers. These glasses were made by a priestess who came into contact with Miller by the supernatural powers associated with these glasses. In addition to the purpose of contact between priestess and Miller, these glasses serve the purpose of prooving miller innocent in that violent event. So this is a great book written by the writer in a good manner. thanks for the review.

A combination of detective work and supernatural powers somehow comes as a turn off to me. I guess the story will interest others according to the review but I am out.

Seems like an interesting book. I love paranormal type stuff so I'm adding it to my Want To Read list. Hopefully by the time I read it they'll edit it another time.
