I agree with you about the need for further elaboration. Otherwise, I only see this novella suitable for younger audiences and even in this case, it depends on their preferences and previous readings. In my case, the legend of the island was the thing that managed to catch my attention in the sample. Thanks for your review!

Romance, mystery, the supernatural. The perfect blend if you ask me. The book seems like a wonderful read.

I'm definitely interested in reading this book, however, I prefer reading books in order when they come from a series.

I struggle to read the book as the print size is small and seemingly can't be enlarged at all. Then I thought to find glasses that helped the detective seems a little too easy. I don't believe in talking to the spirits of dead people, so I don't think I will read this book.

As interesting as this book sounds, I am not a fan of most of the subject matters in it including voodoo. I will skip this one and the series. Lovely review!

I love detective mysteries, and I think I'll especially like this novel because of the mix of supernatural elements and voodoo magic in the investigation, I'm curious to see how that goes.

Sounds like a nice, quick read - too bad about the editing issues, though. Thanks for your review!

This book seems like something I would enjoy. It looks like it has a pretty decent pace, and the mysterious and supernatural nature of the story seems to pull the readers in instantly. I was already drawn to the plot just from reading your review. I would really like to know who is really behind those killings, and whether the cold case about the young girl is ever solved. Miller also seems like a very interesting character who plagued by unfortunate circumstances. Thank you for you review! You've got me very interested in this novella now!

I agree with everyone as to the inappropriate name of the main characters’ honeymoon venue😱 I definitely wouldn’t go there myself! Great review you got here @Kat Berg👍It brought me back decades ago when I’m so hooked up with my Mills & Boone’s pocketbooks, while the mystery side of the story reminded me of The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew Mysteries🤗it’s such a lovely feeling♥️Thanks for the free Sample and my sincere Congratulations to the Author on the #BOTD :tiphat:

I like the sound of the voodoo elements which must give an interesting twist to this whodunnit. Thanks for the information that things don't get too graphic.

Unlikely and ominously named honeymoon destination. Glasses with mystical spirit communication powers enchanted with voodoo. And its a detective novel where he needs to prove his innocence. This has a lot of desirable qualities. Look forward to reading this.

Probably won't read this, but I'm glad you enjoyed the book, despite not being familiar with the rest of the series. As a reader, I personally like to start at the beginning of any series, because I can get lost without context very easily. If I ever become familiar with the Miller's View books though, I'll check this out, especially since it is a novella and can be read very quickly.

A peaceful honeymoon turning into Detective Miller's worst nightmare. I like the idea of the plot and the mixture of murder mystery and supernatural activities. Will make sure to add this to my reading list. Congrats!
