Miller’s View: La Isla de la Muerte by Marlene W. Potts
The book is an awesome novella which touches on the supernatural and the mystery behind the domestic violence incident. The book I must say is a book for all, easy to understand.
The protagonist ''Miller", Detective Jonathan Miller and his wife went on a honey moon trip to La Isla de la Muerte "The island of the dead". Although the name sounds very creepy but the travel agent convinced him (Miller) that it was a nice place to be and nothing bad happened on the island for centuries.
On getting to the island for only few days, Miller intercedes a domestic violence case, things started getting out of hand and Miller had to answer for them. While trying to prove his innocence got a secret weapon a pair of round, gold rimmed glass. The glasses which was created by a priestess had the power to help him speak with that priestess and also some spirits.
To his advantage in proving his innocence the glass also had some other powers he could use secretly to solve the mystery behind the killings before it affect more people.
The book is an interesting one and if am to rate it I would give it 4 stars out of 5.

What a disgusting and nerve-wracking way for a couple to spend their honeymoon. I hope that things will work out positively for them. Thank you for your insightful review of this book.

Thanks for the review. Not sure I'm wanting to jump into a series mid-stream. I like the idea of the supernatural and mystery elements intermingling. Although only a novella, it sounds like it has significant plot twists and intrigue. I'm interested.

It is an interesting mystery novel, mixed with the supernatural and romance. The title is intriguing that pulls any reader who likes new takes on the usual murder mystery books. Congrats!

great review! glad to hear that the book allows its readers to easily get caught up with who the characters were and what was going on despite it not being the first book in the series. and it was definitely intriguing and interesting enough especially with such a morbid name for an island. however, i think i would prefer to read the previous ones first. i didn't forget to add this on my TBR list though.

Based on the review, I'm not sure this is a book I would like to read. It sounds like the book has some mystery and the plot twists may add some spice and do sound intriguing. However, the idea of magical glasses sounds a little hokey to me. Thanks for the review.

Interesting premise. I agree with other comments that I’d be avoiding this island due to the name! Sounds like an interesting mystery mixed with some supernatural. Thanks for your review.

The name is very odd for a honeymoon venue, and I do not feel enticed by the cover page. However, I also love mysteries and detective stories, so this book will go on my 'to read' list. Having an element of supernatural also adds in more suspense and intrigue.

So interesting "island of the death" must be quite a adventure especially for people who came for the honeymoon. Supernatural elements makes it a good thriller too.

I am undecided here, I actually like thrillers including the supernatural variant. However I am a bit skeptical about a pair of gold-rimmed glasses being a secret weapon. On the positive side 'The Island of the dead' has to be an interesting setting not minding whatever any travel agent says. Well, like the popular saying, "the taste of the pudding is in the eating". I will keep my fingers crossed. Nice review and congrats to the author on #BOTD

Don't think I would like this one with the mention of voodoo. Novellas are usually not to my taste anyway because they always seem too short.
