It is rare these days to find books that deal with both dark subjects and murder, but are still appropriate to YA audiences. This seems to be an interesting mix of crime and fantasy and I'm interested to see what the author comes up with.

I do like supernatural books with suspense and mystery elements. The voodoo is not something that bothers me either, and I really enjoy when books go into its history. I think this could be an enjoyable story. Thank you for the review.

Judging by the cover, I thought it was going to be some type of romance. I was surprised to find out that it was a mystery. Sad to know that it needs to go through editing again. Nice review.

A mystery with a bit of the supernatural. Although the book touches on the supernatural, and violence, it is not graphic or needlessly violent. The plot is detailed making the book more interesting.

It looks like an interesting book and I'm surprised it's a novella. I'm not sure that I like the supernatural element of this book. Do you think it was an easy way for the writer to explain things he couldn't otherwise?

You review paints quite an enthralling and ironic plot. Crime thriller mixed with the supernatural is my least favourite genre but for those who like this genre, do enjoy.

Rare is the murder mystery in a detective series mixed with the supernatural story nowadays. Miller's View: La Isla de la Muerte by Marlene W. Potts appears to have its own unique narrative elements and devices. I'm intrigued to see how Detective Jonathan Miller will use the scientific and rational approach of a crime investigation in a situation influenced by supernatural elements. The book is steeped in irony. Miller embarks on wedded life by bringing his new bride to a honeymoon on an island called La Isla de la Muerte or the Island of Death. It's only a matter of time before the twisted and dark mysteries of the island surface from its crystal blue waters. Miller is drawn into a murder investigation and becomes a suspect! The book's sample in Amazon does not show much to make the reader guess on where the story goes next. I cannot be blamed for betting the redheaded woman and her date have roles in the subsequent story arc. Reviewer Kat Berg says that while Miller's View has weird plot twists, it is told at a brisk pace that satisfyingly leads to a clear conclusion. Let's see how this all works out...

Miller's View: La Isla de la Muerte by Marlene W. Potts is a perfect blend of #Supernatural and #MurderMystery that follows the honeymoon of Detective Jonathan Miller and Callie in the Island of the Dead. When Miller intervenes in a domestic violence incident, the dead bodies begin piling up.

I'll read to find out how Miller solved this puzzle. Thanks for the great review. 😉

Thanks for the interesting and insightful review. When I first read the blurb for this book I was ready to pass because it sounded like it was part of an on-going series of things going on I'd have no idea as to what. But I'm happy to know that the author catches you up just enough to engage the reader into the story. I think that I'll go ahead and check this book out since I like the supernatural elements to it as well. I just wish that there was more depth to the story overall.

I like the fact that this is a novella, but I'm not keen on the grammatical errors. So this is going to be a no from me.

I love the idea for voodoo and other supernatural elements that are described about the book in the review. I love how quick and smooth it sounds like it reads. I would want to read the other books in the series before I read this one. Also, every vacation is always advertised better then it actually is when you go to the place. Even with the errors in the book, I think I would love to read this one still! I'm excited I won a the free book!! Thanks OnlineBookClub!! You did a great job on this review. It was descriptive, yet short and sweet.

This book sounds like a great read, but I would be bothered if I didn't read the other books first. With that being said I would love to check out the series as a whole. thanks for the review.
