A historical fiction story with a romance theme sounds epic. The setting is also very captivating. Too bad for the errors it would have received a perfect score.

I read the review of the book War Serenade by Jill Wallace. This is the story of South Africa during World War II. This is a love story between a British woman named Iris and Pietro who is an Italian prisoner. The story is similar to some extent with the Apollo's Raven by Linnea Tanner. Thanks for the good review.

There's always a mystery and evocation in forbidden loves. I, myself, am intrigued if these two people could really stand a chance as a couple, being from two differents bands in the war. However, the erotic scenes mentioned turn me off. In my personal opinion, a book does not have to include these scenes to make the reader believe in the romance. Thanks, anyways.

I was also surprised by the book's different perspective on WWII. With a love story interwoven in it, I would like to find out how the story ends irregardless of the slow start.I enjoyed your review.

I like the sound of this historical romance in the troubled era of World War II.

Hi anneloretrujillo,
I enjoyed your review. You did a great job describing what the reader would experience while reading this book. It sounds great for those who love a
good love story. It also sounds great for historians. You mentioned the pace of the book varied in a few places and there was some adult content. It
sounds like, overall it is a good book to read.

Thank you,
Joycelyn Kyle

This book is not a narrative for me because I do not enjoy themes rich in love or wars especially in South Africa. The characters are always more than necessary for me in themes dealing with war.

It is a shame about the erotic scenes. I would read this book if it didn't have that in it. It sounds like it is an unique story.

Thanks for the thorough review. The story got me interested when you mentioned about prisoners of war in South Africa. I can overlook the errors as the plot seems quite intriguing.

I like trying all sorts of genres and the perspective on this sounds interesting. I probably won't read this one if it's hard to get into but appreciate the review on it.
