Thanks for a good review. I must admit that I also sometimes read YA fantasy books. Erik's adventure sounds like a fun read.

This is a very intriguing mystery book. The author did a great job keeping the reader engaged and drawn into the adventure.

Not too much of a fan of young adult books, but since this book has both adventure and mystery, I think it might sound cool. Also love that it has humor. Nice review.

A YA fantasy book revolving around Erick who lives right at the edge of Brettenwood Forest, a mysterious, dark forest where an evil witch is said to live, and where none dare venture. Despite the few numbers of grammatical errors that exist in the book, I believe that this is a fantastic book that should be enjoyed by every lover of the genre. The online book club review is also as comprehensive.

Horror books make me sick. However, the review is a good work; it revealed the characters in the book, and l noticed that a reader might be kept in suspense which is positive for the book.

I, too, greatly enjoy YA fantasy novels even they are done right. This book definitely seems like the kind that I would enjoy. It has a level of creepiness and mystery that I find intriguing. I also love books with great descriptions. I'm glad that despite the grammatical errors it still earned a four out of four. The book's content must be enough to make up for those mistakes. Thank you for your wonderful review!

Oh! From the narrative presented by the reviewer, I am eager to read this story because of the acts of Erik and the evil witch. Erik dares the wictch, and he is bound to face the consequences.

This plot reminds me a lot of Elsewhere, the haunted forest Lois Lowry depicts in her The Giversaga. Anybody who read Messenger (from the The Giver series), for example, could easily relate to this kind of fantastical places. I can assure I'm not the only one who finds mystery always more intriguing when we encounter it out in the wild, and Mysteries of Brettenwood seems to be a great example of it. Undoubtedly, a must-read.

I'm on the fence with this novel. I enjoy YA for a variety of reasons, including some of the ones you cite, but I hate errors. It sounds like the author needs to give the book another read through first. I like the idea of the subtle shift in perspective... I might pick it up in the future, but I'm not in a rush.

The review is really spot on. Wish I had money to buy the book. There are the mystery there and suspense and you wonder about Erik and the forest. The witch, the object he picked up and the wolves sound like a wonderful adventure.

I enjoy YA fantasy, but I honestly thought this was going to be a children's book from the cover! I'm pleased to see that it's not, although, I'd probably want to read it to my kids if that were the case. I love the adventure described and the mysteries of the forest, and I love to read about young people displaying more bravery than most adults. Thanks for the review.

Interesting, but at the same time I am still in doubt. One the one.hand I really like Victorian Gothic in any shape and form. On the other, I admittedly didn't delved much into YA books and experience rarely was satisfying. Well, I guess you'll never know unless you try.

Your enthusiasm and excitement for today's BOTD was very convincing! Thank you - I got a copy! Yay! I think many of my students will also enjoy this one, so I plan to add it to our classroom book recommendations board. Much appreciated! :-)

This looks like a darker Hansel and Gretel story. I found the sample somewhat slow, no doubt considering young readers. I wonder what evil will befall Erik and how Cristina will help.

Thanks for sharing your fascinating experience!
