I like that this book focuses on a person’s mindset and how important that can be for a person to meet their goals. Making subtle changes in routines until they become habit seems like an intelligent way to work toward a healthier lifestyle.

The nine stages outlined seem to follow most standard approaches to healthy weight loss. Pay attention to what you eat, drop sugar, soda, processed carbs, red meat and get some exercise, including weight training. The difference seems to be primarily in his approach: the idea that our previous failures at weight loss are not necessarily due to weakness, but to the difficulty in following a healthy life-style when our surrounding conspire against that. Introducing each aspect of healthy eating and exercise, rather than taking a fast track approach as many diets do, allows for working into the healthier lifestyle. Making one aspect automatic, before throwing the next change at you.

From a sampling, this book is an interesting metaphor for weight loss and is worth a second look. Well done.

Good review! Rez Khan, the author of this book gives information about what is weight gain and how people can control it. He explained the procedure in a simple way that everyone can follow. He uses a Greek metaphor throughout to mock the society that repeatedly speaks about weight issues. The author has stressed upon eating habits and exercises to reduce the excess weight. I believe this is a useful guide for those who like to maintain optimum weight or want to reduce their weight.

I like the way you described the author's approach for this book. I agree that when it comes to something like weightloss, it is our attitude that gets in the way more than the food itself. I really like the quote, "you are what you think." This book seems simple, yet meaningful at the same time. Thank you so much for your thoughtful review!

I'm not looking to lose weight or anything, but I love, love, LOVE the author's approach to weight loss. I've long been a believer in life-style adjustments and long-term modifications. I'm happy to see this concept in today's BOTD! Thanks for the thorough review! I found it very helpful :D

Rez has done a good job here. I believe that this is something that is actually workable since the root cause of weight gain; the eating habits and mental attitudes towards the same, are handled. Thanks for the enlightening review.

I am not a fan of this kind of book. However, the use of easy to read charts and substantial scientific evidence to support the author's advice and conclusions that may give us freedom from overweight and obesity make me give it a try.
