I've heard horrible stories coming from abused people in cults, but I've never read a memoir of such a person. I think I will like this book.

It's terrifying to think of someone you're supposed to trust, like a therapist or parent, leading you astray. Cults are hard to get away from. This story seems inspirational.

I really didn't want to read about cults and I'd have given this book a pass after reading only the title. So I'm glad I read the review, otherwise, I'd have missed a great book. I think this book will be invaluable to many people to identify any sort of abuse in the initial stages so that they won't be subjected to years of abuse. Also, it might help us to identify a person who is being subjected to abuse and help them get away from it. It must not have been pleasant for the author to think about all the past incidents. So I appreciate and thank her for her courage.

This story unknowingly brings out the value of good friends and companionship. The author tells the tale of a woman in distress. How her upbringing impacts her life and her decisions. It's very interesting to know that this is based on true events. Thank you for your review!

This book sends incredibly powerful. Abuse is no light issue. It's a very sensitive topic and not one that many are willing to talk or write about. I'm glad the author had the courage to do so. I'd like to learn more about the hardships the author experienced and how she overcame them. Thank you so much for your review!

It is hard to understand how someone can allow other people to lead them astray, but it happens and as human beings we are all vulnerable. I would probably like to know what takes place in this story. Thanks for the review.

A memoir about one of the authors' involvement in a cult led by her therapist. This is surely an intriguing and enlightening book.

My gosh, pulled into a cult by a therapist. Such a betrayal on so many levels. I am glad the author wrote this book so others might be helped. Thanks for the great review.

Cults are an unfortunate and ever present reality in today's society, as many people try to look for meaning and solve their problems. It saddens me that others take advantage of those in need for their own gain. I look forward to finding out how the main character freed herself from this prison.

This is such a fascinating topic and I’m happy to see that the story is told well, and we are able to experience the events vividly through the main character’s recounting. Looking forward to this one!

Thank you for your detailed review. I think this book sets out to highlight how susceptible we can can be, as well as how persuasive.

This book sounds very good based on the review. The reviewer doesn’t mention any grammatical or editing errors, if they’re isn’t, that’s great. If there is it’s misleading of the reviewer not to mention it. Over all I feel like this is an insightful review into what this book is about.

I'm not too keen on the subject matter. However it does seem a little but interesting. I may pick it up later, or not. I'm still on the fence about it.

I've got to read this book! The topic is unique yet incredibly interesting as it poses a brave perspective. Doctors are supposed to help people but there are some out there who abuse. It's good to shed light on this topic as it's certainly one people like to brush under the rug. Additionally I'm looking forward to reading about how these things happen amongst our own blood, the ones we trust most. Even more appealing to me is how she knows what the doctor is telling her is wrong but she gets her friends to be minions with her on these acts. Very intrigued by the storyline.

I also immediately thought of Jim Jones and the Peoples' Temple. That has always been fascinating to me as I just can't fathom following someone to the extent that people follow their cult leaders. Reading a story told through the eyes of one of those victims offers a unique perspective. The author gave decades of her life so it is amazing that someone was finally able to pull her out of the destructive life she was living.
