Nice review. This sounds like an interesting self-help book. I think everyone had at lease one person that they try to avoid because they are “that” difficult person. The author offers ways of dealing other than avoidance as well as letting the reader know that maybe they are someone else’s difficult person with the “Do unto others” philosophy. Thanks so much for sharing.

This is a non-fiction self help book on personal growth and the journey to it. I am not a big fan of such books, but the OnlineBookClub review was inciteful and decided me on it. Congrats on being the BOTD.

Thanks for your interesting review. Everyone has to deal with difficult people , and I think that we are all difficult ourselves at times. People are basically insecure, and by trying to be accepted, we are perceived as being difficult. This sounds like a book that would be helpful to everyone. Congratulations on being selected as BOTD.

The author acknowledges the differences between people and advises that just because some people are complicated, ignoring them won't erase them from the surface of the earth. The book provides solutions on how to get along with even the most burdensome of individuals.

What an interesting concept for a book! There are plenty of people out there who perhaps are considered difficult, but I can see that those who are difficult may not recognize that within themselves. It's good to know that the chapters were easy to read, and that there are relevant exercises and strategic actions present here. I love when people are self-reflective of past actions in order to become more self-aware and heal; it's great that the author experienced this! Too bad about the few minor errors, but I'm glad that these didn't deter from your enjoyment of this meaningful text! Thank you for your detailed review!

We do all have to deal with difficult people in our life at one time or another. This book, written by someone who finally realized she was a difficult person, explains the environment in which she grew up that contributed to her becoming a difficult person to be around. The fact that the author was able to be open and offer these examples can help the reader be more empathetic towards the individual in their own life that they find burdensome to have a satisfying relationship with. The book goes on to explain techniques to use when dealing with difficult people, which can help make such relationships more agreeable.

Great review and sounds like the book is a good one. It not only provides helpful suggestions/tips to deal with difficult people but also to improve your own actions (and thoughts?). I especially liked and agree with your comment: "Would it surprise you to know that most people whom we label as difficult don't realize the negative impact they are having on others?" I can think of some people that I've known in the past that I honestly feel they had no clue that they were difficult to be around.

This book actually sounds very interesting. Everybody tells me I'm very relaxed and easy-going - my other half in particular calls me a "breath of fresh air" - so I know I am not difficult, but I'm still curious about the "signs" of a difficult person; don't we already know a difficult person when we talk to/interact with them? And on the other side of things, it's interesting that the difficult [sometimes] don't know that they are! I'm also VERY curious about the advice for dealing with such people, as I deal with them far too often for my liking! ... Thanks for the wonderful and thorough review; you made a fan out of me!
