What do you think that signing your initials at the end of the chapters accomplished?

Very good point!Juliar252 wrote: ↑05 Nov 2018, 18:50 Signing my initials forced me to pause and really reflect on what I read. It also encouraged me to consider how I could put the author's ideas into practice in my own life. It is easy to read and absorb information, but thinking about how it can be applied in your life personally requires more thought.

Good point-it's true that everyone interprets the book in a different way, and uses the techniques and lessons by the author in their own way.

That makes a lot of sense, come to think of it, I don't like writing in books either.Ever_Reading wrote: ↑06 Nov 2018, 06:01 Like most of the other readers, I am currently reading the book on my Kindle. So, you can trust there will be no signing of initials happening. I probably wouldn't have done it even if I bought the paperback though. It feels like a weird thing to do. Plus, I don't like writing in my novels.![]()

That's what I thought too. It makes you sit back and think about what you just read.

You're right, I think it's about committing yourself to implement the suggestions in the book.serendipity 27 wrote: ↑06 Nov 2018, 14:59 I think it signified that you were committed to accomplishing some of the goals. It just made it more permanent. It's not something I would do but it may help some people.

I found the book to be somewhat repetitive too.laurenolgine wrote: ↑07 Nov 2018, 07:50 I think it was a way to make the book stand out. It isn't accomplishing anything for me. There are so many chapter were there aren't any true 'tasks' to sign off on.

I just air signed my initials as I read the book. It did give me a feeling of responsibility to complete the recommendations.
