Thank you for the engaging review! I am an avid reader of historical fiction and I love the mixing in of the fantasy in this book. The author sounds like they have put a lot of thought behind this storyline. The characters sound engaging and like an ideal novel for me. I will definitely be putting this book on my to-be-read shelf. I can't wait to read this book!

Thanks for the review, but as I noted with book one, as much as I like the idea of all the strong female characters, I'm just not into historical fantasy, especially with forbidden love involved, so I won't be reading this one, either.

From a sampling, this is an interesting historical fiction/fantasy story revolving around the Celtic people and their relationship with the Romans. This book has great character development and is worth a second look. Well done.

I love the book already. You did justice to the book from your review, I would really love to read it, I also love the blend of fantasy&history, sprinkled with a bit of love.

Your attention to detail really makes you a great asset to OBC's review program! Nice job! I really enjoyed reading about today's BOTD. This sounds like a popular choice for lovers of fantasy and historical fiction, as well as those looking to expand their knowledge of Roman and Celtic culture. Keep up the awesome work and thanks again!

I like the blend of fantasy and historical fiction, but for some reason, the cover of this book bothers me. I enjoy Roman culture, but I am a huge fan of Celtic culture and history, so I think I would enjoy that aspect of this book. Thank you for the superb review.

I'm about halfway through the book and completely agree with the review that the history, romance and fantasy elements blend well. Kudos to the author.

I love that this book blends romance, fantasy, and historical fiction together. Three of my favorite genres. Nice review.

. To make matters more complicated, Catrin begins to fall in love with Marcellus after she is tasked when overseeing him. Will the pair be able to balance their budding relationship with their familial duties?

Tanner has done an excellent job of blending fantasy with historical fiction. I did not know much about Celtic or Roman culture, so it was fascinating to read about the differences and similarities between the two. I appreciated that the Celtics viewed women as equals and allowed for them to follow whatever lifepath they desired.

I thought this was a well written book, but historical romance is not for me. It's really cool that the Celts actually viewed women as equal to men. I hope that is true.

Wonderful review! I loved seeing all of the comments about how readers enjoyed this book so much. I am not one for fantasy and I can openly admit I didn't try as hard as I should have to be drawn in. The idea of learning history between the Celtic and Roman culture is intriguing but the fantasy and romance do nothing for me. Maybe someday I will give it another try but for now, this one is going back on the shelf.

I remember really enjoying this one, too! The forbidden love between Celtic Princess Catrin and Roman Marcellus was always intriguing to read. The author does do a nice job in blending fantasy and historical fiction; I especially enjoyed the fantasy elements! Catrin being able to blend with a raven is such a cool concept. I actually forgot about Catrin's twin sister! Now, I want to know more about her. Yes, I noticed the errors, too, but like you, I still really enjoyed this book! Thank you for sharing!

I adore Greek myths and stories, and I'd love to learn more about Celtic ones! Looking forward to reading this!
