I’m not sure if I would like this book or not, to be honest. Action on top of romance sounds great, but having characters act in an unreasonable way to advance the plot would likely bother me. Historical fiction isn’t one of my top genres, so this book is just a possible future read.

Thanks for the awesome review! I enjoyed learning about the Celtic and Roman cultural tidbits as well! It was cool to see the dynamics play out in how Marcellus and Catrin initially thought of each other. One of the drawbacks I found in this book was the fact that it ended in a cliffhanger!

I love historical fantasy, and the interaction between the Romans and the Celts absolutely fascinates me. I've been meaning to read this novel for a while and yet still haven't found the time. However, based on this review it will definitely stay on my "to read" list. Thank you for the thorough review.

Historical and fantasy are two of my favourite genres and the storyline seems to be interesting. So I'm sure I'd enjoy this book since there aren't any major flaws in it either. Thanks for the detailed review.

I do not know much about Roman nor Celtic cultures, but I generally enjoy historical fiction, so I expect that I will like this book as well as learn something! It sounds heartfelt and action packed too. Thanks for your review.

Thanks for mentioning about the Celtic and Roman culture embedded in the book. Seems like it is more than a fantasy adventure story. However, sexual assault and gore are not suitable for me, thanks for the warning.

Torn between her duty for her family and people and her love for a Roman invader, the Celtic princess Catrin will embark on a long journey of self-discovery. The book becomes a wonderful blending of adventure, mystical experiences, ancient history and mythology, sweeping romance and political intrigue. I've also read the second book in the series, Dagger's Destiny and I can't wait for the next one. Thanks for your review!

This sounds like a very interesting read given the perfect rating by the reviewer. I really wonder how Marcellus and Catrin's love story would play out. Catrin would have to make tough decisions. Congrats to the author for winning BOTD.

That's what I love so much about the Celtic culture...the way women were allowed to hold power and were respected. As Celtics were Pagan, there was no Christianity coming in with the bible trying to dictate how women should be treated, what places they should hold, etc. Historical fiction that tells the stories of these women is very interesting indeed. Thanks for your insight!
