They say it's the journey that matters more than the destination, amd this book looks like the perfect example, woth strong emphasis on family, fantasy, and folklore.

It seemed to be a new plot for the adventure and mystery genre. I am looking forward to meet Sarah and her relative as soon as I am able to get hold of this 4-rated novel.

I also give the book 4 out of 4. It is challenging to read Sarah's adventures with the canoe people. But that's part of the experience of awakening that the reader goes through with Strong Heart.

You wrote a stunning review!

What a great combination - a headstrong orphan girl and her grandfather. It's definitely great to know Sarah's experience was extraordinary. It's nice to know that you liked how the story weaved in convention and tradition with some of the folklore that Tom didn't believe in. Too bad about the errors found here, but it's nice that the author included some of his personal background into his story. I actually read this. It wasn't my favorite book and I had a hard time enjoying it, but I'm glad you did! Thanks for sharing!

I feel that I may really enjoy this book after reading the sample chapter and this review. The characters seem relatable and the review brought to light themes in the book that I personally find fascinating. Well done.

I got a review copy of this book, although halfway through reading, I gave up. The pace was too slow for me so I didn’t get to find out what happens at the end of her journey.

It's interesting how the author used his personal background for the characters' thoughts. Great review.

The backdrop of the Olympic National Park provides a rich framework for exploration. As characters with significant substance these caricatures represent some of the highlights of the Pacific Northwest from the pragmatic, scientific side to the wayfaring sailor and wanderer. These individuals may have aspects that are boiled down for purposes of the narrative while still highlighting themes common for this area. The juxtaposition of the ornery juvenile who collides with the personalities provides a formula allows these personality traits to become further highlighted. This book provides an excellent insight as a character study.

This is a well written review, great job! This looks like an interesting adventure story. I can already spot a section of the tapestry this story attempts to weave and I like it. Sarah should make for a good protagonist. Congrats to the author on #BOTD

I really enjoyed this book. At first I thought it was going to be a tipical tale of a rebellious teenager coming of age, but it turned out to be so much more. Wonderfully descriptive and well written. It draws you in and holds you captive. The end left me hoping for a sequel.
