Clearly the author wasn’t going for mystery as to what kind of animal the farmer is getting. If they were they wouldn’t have put it on the front cover. Other then that one misguided statement this is a good review that gives insight into this very cute kids book.

It's nice when children's books are just cute and entertaining, but that they also teach things. This is a great book for kids.

Well thought-out review! While I wasn't too intrigued by the couple of pages I had read, now I see that I missed much of the main story and would give it a second chance based off what you wrote!

This sounds like such a creative and fun story to read, even for adults. The illustrations on the front cover look a bit unappealing to me though. Still, I'm curious to see how the author subtly tackles the subject of anticipation and anxiety about having a new sibling. Thank you for your review.

I can see that the reviewer enjoyed/had fun writing this review. I think this is a great story and seems to have age-appropriate illustrations. A wise man once said all we need is love. Acceptance and security help to nurture and deepen love. Congrats tothe author on #BOTD

Your review underscores that that Farmer Beau's Farm indirectly teaches worthwhile lessons. This is quite laudable as I share a similar passion for such stories.

I added this book to my want to read shelf. Cute kittens and bunny and cute personalities. I love the teaching of morals and values to kids.

I love that there are so many beautiful and valuable lessons included, hidden in the cute details of the story. The farm animals have a lot of fun together while also expressing their very real questions/concerns about the new addition. What a cute and lovable tale. Great review!

This isn't the kind of books I engaged my child in when he was growing. The concept is a great one though and may be a great way to help an older child adjust to a new sibling and all the thoughts and feelings they will have in the process of that adjustment. Especially since it's not real till it actually happens and so it may also help them wrap their head around a concept becoming reality. There is a a lot of potential to what this read offers.

You did a good job on your review. The book tries to help children realize that just because someone new joins the family, that does not mean the child is being replaced. The use of cute talking animals makes it kid friendly. The artwork looked cute too.

This sounds like a book with good messages for children, like learning to be loving and accepting to those different than you. I found it funny too that the story played up the "mystery" of the newcomer when the answer is on the cover! I think it would have been better if that was kept a surprise :D

Children can have a sense of foreboding when anticipating the arrival of a new sibling. When the new baby arrives, resources are stretched to accommodate the needs of the sibling, which further exacerbates the anxieties of the older child. By creating animal characters who are experiencing these same emotions, children can imprint their own sentiments onto these creatures and live vicariously through them to discover a resolution. Kathleen Geiger’s ability to appeal to children in their own language and assist them in navigating their own emotions through what can be a tumultuous time in their own development is praiseworthy.

The story is not only applicable to children but also to adults. It's a good bedtime story where the parent can read this story to their children. I love how the cute animals were treated properly. The story can help stimulate the humility in every children so that when they grow up, they will learn how to humble themselves and restore faith in humanity.
