I agree, i become this way because it is the by-product of my decisions.Swiftmover07 wrote: ↑01 Nov 2018, 23:54 The part where the author tells you to start taking responsibility for where you are at in your life. That part really stuck with me because it is true. Every decision a person has made up to this day has lead to where you are at in life... A real eye opener when you absorb the words and let them actually sink in.

That part of the book really connected with me too! I found that I was compromising to keep others happy and keep the peace but it wasn’t always in my best interest. The book helped me to take notice of that and really make a conscious effort to changecpru68 wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 09:22 I read a lot of self-help, and the reason I do is that I always learn something when the author shares a piece of his or her life. This one is no different. I felt that this author did a great job detailing some parts of his life where he truly needed to look at himself and change his ways instead of blaming others. I especially liked the part where he didn't want to go with friends to an event, and he said yes anyway. He was so conflicted about not wanting to let them down, but he didn't want to go. Finally, after working up enough courage, he tells them he doesn't want to go, and then they don't really care! I thought that story was so good because I have done the same thing where I have compromised to make others happy instead of doing what I wanted to do. The whole book was great!
