A historical fiction novel portraying a post-war provincial life in in Australia during the 50s sounds intriguing. River Kids by Jennie Linnane sounds like a great book. It's a historical fiction book, a story of Annie Hughes which covers her entire childhood until she is on the threshold of adulthood and her dream of becoming a nurse. I would love to read it. Great review!

Jennie does it again! She has a wonderful way with words that makes the scenes jump from the pages. I stopped reading with the fourth child, Josephine. I'm excited to meet the other five. What a wonderful family, the Hughs!
