Thanks for your review. I like murder mysteries, especially ones that shake and shock small close communities, so I think I will like this one. I find the title a bit off-putting though - it sounds like a bible study.

Seems like an interesting novel with difficult underlying family dynamics. Even reading just the sample, I found myself curious about Bernie’s relationships with his father and wife. I like a book that is more than just a murder mystery so this might fit the bill.

It seems like an interesting story, but it's too bad if it's hard to follow in the beginning. That sort of thing puts me off when picking a book.

This is a beautiful review, and I would be interested in reading the full story after seeing your take on it. Thank you for sharing. Two points: I would have loved to hear an example of the level of medical terminology from the book utilized, in the review, with a simple example word; and, I feel that a little bit of summary about how the story transforms itself into a romance ( such as which characters were involved ) would have been appropriate and not a spoiler.

Quite an interesting book. The plot could be classified as "slices of life" to me, which is a genre I generally enjoy if it's not very intense or sad. I would give this book a try, and I think it's one of those books that would make an amazing movie.

This book appealed to me the minute I read that the journalist has a strained relationship with his father, as I do too. I also get the vibe of being a creative individual who suffers from mental health issues and I love a good piece of writing that explores the hidden depths of variety such as romance, murders, and suspense! Adding this to my 'want to read' shelf.

I have read the review of the book A Tough by Evelyn Cole. This is a story in which different forms of life have been shown as love, grief and anger. The mysteries of the different nature have also been discussed in a beautiful manner in this story. I like your review.

I always enjoy reading realistic characters and am happy that the book does not shy away from using medical jargon.

This sounds like an interesting read as it has a little bit of every genre. I love that the characters are well-developed and that the storyline smoothes out after the beginning. Congrats on the book of the day! Great review.

This sounds like a very character-driven story. I'm glad the author wrote this one so well; it sounds like you can really identify with the characters. I'm curious about Bernie and how his life turns out. Thanks.

I'm curious to find out what takes place in Bernie Perkins life after reading the review. I do love books with great character development and this book promises just that. This is one I look forward to reading with caution on the graphic parts. Great review.

There seems to be a lot going on this book. I dig into character development and from what you said, there is plenty here. I wonder what (or who) Bernie lost in the tragedy. Thank you for your review!
