Great review! I'm not sure this book interests me, but your final line intrigued me. Perhaps I will read it after all

Many people go in pursuit of the American Dream. The path to this destination is different for everyone yet each person encounters some similarities in the form of perseverance and devotion to their goal. The comfort of knowing the job was well done and vision having been fulfilled is the ultimate reward. In my viewpoint, that is the business model behind Larry Schneiderman and the Schneiderman furniture brand.

Thank you for a wonderful review :) it's always fascinating to discover all the hardships people have to go through before they manage to build a successful business. It must have been difficult on the authors' parents raising 6 children in such a small place while working such long hours.

Seems like a great book, the humour makes it even more interesting. It shows the dynamics of family business. Thanks for the review.

This book sounds kind of interesting, especially because it’s written by a small business owner and features life wisdom. I’ll check it out.

Wow! Talk about making me change my mind! At first glance, my first guess was this book was about business and was going to be dull and boring. After reading your review I see how wrong I was! I must say that I'm intrigued to learn about this family's trials, tribulations, and successes as they make their family business bloom and grow from the ground up. Sounds like a fascinating story that delves deeper than just the business and gives the reader a glimpse into their personal lives as well. Looking forward to reading this book.

I like the endurance of the Schneidermans and how they took the time to build a quality furniture business, now stretching over 70 years. It's a book I would like reading as not many business owners would want to share their store's humble beginnings. Thanks for the nice review.

I'm glad you enjoyed the book. I, personally, don't enjoy books like this one I think they are a little sad and overwhelming sometimes and to think that those facts are true and not fiction makes me even sadder. Of course, it looks like a lovely book and people with a stronger stomach than mine sure will enjoy it.

Even though I like humor, I'm not a fan of autobiographical books. Just not my cup of tea. This one is going in the no pile.

I like the simile you used about the author being like a circus performer spinning plates! From what I have read of the book, it is a valid comparison. Schneiderman truly seems to do it all, and takes true delight from it! I also found the book appealing because of where I live. It truly is a unique book because it seems to span several genres. I tend to be bored by books of its ilk, but I found chapters flying by!

It is great to hear about a successful business and from Larry Schneiderman, who likes selling furniture. It sounds like there are life lessons included, as well as good business practices. The book is now available as an ebook!

After reading your review, I didn't expect that the title has a deep connection to the story. I like how you described the author. I am also curious at how he managed all the responsibilities that you have listed, I have the impression that this book is an inspirational one.

The couch looks so comfortable. It is calling for everyone to rest a bit and read his book. I've read the preface and introduction so far, and look forward to reading the rest. He writes about some ground rules he follows in running his furniture business. I think some of them can apply to life. Thank you Larry Schneiderman for the free Kindle book.
