I like the idea of a what-if scenario with Adolf Hitler, just because it has such potential for suspense. With espionage, mafia crimes, international locals, and political intrigue, this book has a lot to offer a variety of readers. That the character development was so strong is a big plus. Great review, Cecilia!!

Thank you for the review. It seems like an interesting, well-written historical thriller fiction. The plot sounds interesting, and I appreciate that the protagonist has a strong character.

Based on the review this is not a book that I would enjoy reading. I don't like historical thrillers. I also don't have an interest in crime, mafia, or reading about Hitler. I will pass on reading this book.

After reading the review, I wanted to vicariously experience what Abby and her friends are experiencing in their lives. This book is a must read to me since its historical fiction and theres holocaust included.

Thanks for the review. I got interested in the plot thinking it to be a light college mystery but the gradual development of the story involving Hitler and his cruel methods of holocaust raised my curiosity to another level. Will definitely add this to my to be read list.

This historical fiction sounds like a thrilling one! You got me when you said they witnessed a mafia crime! From then on, it seems like this is really worth reading! The historical events involved are also something to look forward! I also liked that you took note of the character development. Abby sounds really awesome, another strong female protagonist! Thanks for the review!

The Holocaust isn't my favorite topic to read about, but it is important to explore and understand this era and its mistakes and triumphs better, and I think that historical fiction like this book is a good place to start. The suspense element is very compelling, and I'm eager to see how Abby develops as a character, especially given her gender, occupation, and location during the time. Thank you for the helpful review.

Despite the genre not being my cup of tea, the review has managed to spark my interest. Abby sure sounds like an intriguing character. Congratulations to the author for winning BOTD.

This seems like a fast-pace thriller with a strong heroine. The beginning is indeed full of action and suspense with Abby White witnessing St. Valentine's Massacre in Chicago and becoming a target on mafia's list. I'm wondering what will happen to her and her friends in the end. Thanks for a great review!

The genre of the story thriller is an all-time favourite. Nowadays, these crimes are so much in the news and a book about popular crimes would make a great effect on readers. Everyone will relate to the story very easily.

Kill Abby White! Now! by C.B. Huesing, is a must-read for historical fiction and thriller fans. It comes with a ringing endorsement from Kirkus Reviews (cited on its Amazon page) and reviewer Cecilia-L, both calling the book a well-written, fast-paced thriller with a charismatic heroine in Abby White. It is set in Chicago's Roaring '20s, the Stock Market crash, and the 1930's Germany at the dawn of the Nazi dictatorship and the ominous period towards the Holocaust and World War II. That the story is an intersection between Chicago's Mafia and the emergence of Nazi Germany is an intriguing, gripping plot-twist for me. It's like Abby and her friends are between a rock and the deep blue sea.

Abby and her friends start out as Chicago Tribune interns who stumble upon a big story on the mafia, putting their lives in danger. Abby and her colleagues survive the Mafia backlash and go to Europe for refuge, where Abby becomes a foreign correspondent in Berlin. In Europe, however, they come upon a world already roiling with tensions soon to break out into World War II. The Amazon summary states that Abby eventually becomes a spy against Hitler's Nazis while she and her colleagues evade the mafia still hounding them in Europe. This is a great way to revisit World War II! Hope it reaches more readers. While Millennials and Generation Z today grapple with the complexities and challenges of their era, they can learn a thing or two from what young people of World War II faced. And C.B. Huesing's novel provides a gripping, entertaining, engaging way to learn about the '20s, '30s and World War II. Cecilia_L says this book provides a historically accurate period setting for the story, so while getting zipped into the suspenseful journey of Abby, we are also informed about the past. That's great!
