The book cover looks catchy to me. One thing I love is, despite the ridicule and abuse Pip had to endure, she still had a good heart and personality. Good review.

Quite an amazing fiction story book "The Pygmy Dragon" by Marc Secchia, which is about Pip who can shape shift into a bronze dragon. She gets captured by the big people during a raid on her Pygmy village and she is confined into a zoo with a humongous ape. The story sounds to be quite entertaining to read.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

Added to my TBR for February. I enjoy shapeshifter books, but never read one about dragons. Oh yea...also like dragons. Hoping this is a wonderful read.

Thanks for the engaging review of this book! I am an avid reader and lover of fantasy novels and this book sound absolutely perfect for me! Pip sounds like such an engaging character, and I love how unique the author creates her as a character. It sounds like Pip goes through a lot from being kidnapped and placed in a zoo, to be rescued and taken to a new place to learn a whole new life. This story sounds fascinating and like it will be a hard to put down novel. Looking forward to reading!

I like good fantasy books and this one seems to be good enough. A young girl that was kidnapped from her village and sold to the zoo spending there quite a big amount of time dreaming of a decent treatment; and then being given just that and a destiny as well. I also like that readers while reading the book get not only the fictional story but can make some comparison with the real life situation of Trans-Atlantic slave trade. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

While I occasionally read fantasy fiction novels, this one just doesn't seem like the kind I'll like. Nice review though.

It sounds like the author really enjoys writing about dragons, which is awesome! It's great to hear that you were engaged right from the beginning until the end. Being through the eyes of Pip, a Pygmy who was caged with a big ape then stolen to become a dragon rider, definitely sounds like a fun story! Shapeshifting into a bronze dragon sounds cool, and it's great to know that despite being abused Pip was able to hold onto her good-natured personality. It's too bad that others made fun of Pip, but it's good to know that Pip is likable and that the was moderately paced and that it well-edited. I think I'll be enjoying this one, too! Thanks for sharing!

I like your review and the biography of the author is certainly impressive. I like that he took the historical events and made them into a fantasy novel. The comparison between the Atlantic slave trade and the small people being taken by the big people are striking. I love the cover art as well and it certainly drew my eyes to wanting to know what the story was about.
