I love stories that are driven by a well developed characters. This book seems to be it. Even though violence and guns need my special mood to read, I'd keep that in my to-read list.

Based on the review I am not sure if this book is something that I would enjoy reading. I dislike reading about abuse or gun violence. I also would not like that it reads like a memoir. I think that I will pass on reading this book.

The protagonist of this story seems to be interesting. I also look forward to how this book has been compared to a memoir.

This looks like agood book. I'm intrigued on what Lydia did after she acquired a gun. Thanks for the review!

After reading this review of I Am Not Gog by James Matthews, I must admit that I am quite ambivalent to both the review itself and to immediately being enticed into picking up a copy of this book.

That said, I will also hasten to admit that I have a definite preference for non-fiction and currently attempting to dabble in the fiction world.

The title of the book is provoking though. Does the author attempt to play upon the word Gog? Does the subject matter reflect his own experiences?

Congrats on a very well written review.

Your review perfectly summarises just what makes the book so unique! I also like that you included your own personal response to some of the more disturbing themes in the book. I will definitely add this book to my reading list.

I also forgot that this book was a work of fiction as well. It seems so real.

Based on this review, this book sounds like one that will make me heartbroken when it ends, to end up wishing that I really knew Lydia and to feel like I lost a friend. I think I would much like to read it, considering that I can relate to her experiences and would like to see justice!

At the end of the book, when I was tempted to Google Lydia Japhethson, I had to remind myself that she is a fictional character. That someone so wonderfully unique and beautifully flawed never actually existed is a pity. I began this book on a wary note, unsure of the likeability of the protagonist. However, I closed the book somewhat heartbroken because I had come to the end of a story of a character I had begun to adore.

I think this is one of the highest praises an author can receive. The character development must be outstanding. The plot seems very engaging and I think the issues raised are important to talk about, like abuse and its connection to mental illness.
I'll definitely read this one! Thank you for your enthusiastic review!

What delights me in this book is that the protagonist, Lydia, appeared to be a genuine individual. It's basically a story of recovery revolving around a lady who was harassed in her youth and to put her past behind she needs to revenge. Much thanks to you for the great review.

It sounds like this work is an eye-opener for its readers and deals with some significant issues in our society. Would like to read this one for the depth of its main character and its realistic plot. Thank you so much for your thorough review.

Driven to insanity by the loathsome behavior inflicted upon her, Lydia felt she had no other option than to take revenge on the only person in close vicinity associated with the abhorrent acts from her childhood.
Human nature is a fickle, unpredictable thing, and it sounds like this book draws close to capturing that. The premise is interesting and your synopsis doesn't spoil anything that happens, so I'm intrigued to know what the author has to say about it in this novel. I hope to read it and find out, and I expect it will take me on a long, interesting journey.

I love character driven stories that are so believable you want to ask Google about them. I can sense the tension of this story from the review and am looking forward to reading it. The topics of bullying and violence are ripped from today's headline news. Excellent and compelling review

Going strictly by the cover and title along with the blurb on Kindle, I was not sure I wanted to read this book. The fact that you had tears in your eyes when you finished says it all; it's a powerful story. I've added this book to my reading list. Thank you for the candid review. :tiphat:
