"The prevalent theme is to stop looking at the summit - just focus on finding joy in each day." I have enjoyed your review so much so that I have a longing to read this book. Congratulations for this wonderful review.

A book about adventures, courage, and emotional healing. It seems quite inspiring, and a lot of readers will benefit from it. Thanks for the review.

It seems like a book I may like to read. It reads well. He started with his rock bottom state in life, which really is a good place to start. Most of those around him before his trip did not believe in him and I guess that spurred his confidence in proving them wrong. You wouldn't blame them though since he was at such a sensitive state/stage in his life. If I had time on my hands, it's a story I might attempt though I am not sure I would finish it.

I have always been interested in adventure books, being quite the adventurer myself has led me to respect nature. The way the book is written, brings out the grim reality of adventure sports. I wish his training was described in better detail. It was an inspirational read in some ways, leaving a tried and tested method of life into the unknown heights of the mountains.
Definitely a great read and quite realistic.

The prevalent theme has struck me more than any other thing in the book. Indeed, it is not about looking at the summit but finding joy in each and every day. Thanks a lot for the wonderful review.

From the review, this sounds like a "do it yourself" help guide for people who aren't doing that great in life. While it may be inspiring to read when you need a helping hand (or good emotional guidance), reading about people struggling to cope with conflicting feelings and how they can fix it by finding inspiration in inner strengths, isn't really my cup of tea. I am one of those who would rather get lost in a totally fictional world, rather than read about problems that I actually deal with in my everyday life.

Very well written review though.
