Don't ya love that? I've got a tape player that only works if you bang it against the wall really hard...it's good for a few hours after that, though.
My favorite song for all time tonight is "E.E. Lawson"--Ozark Mountain Daredevils. And "Oui Mon Cher"--Casanova. I don't know what it is about French rockabilly, but I'm getting addicted.
How perfectly goddamned delightful it all is, to be sure.

French rockabilly, thats a novelty. French music is pretty cool. Especially their jazz like Django Reinhardt and the recordings Sidney Bechet made in France. Edith Piaf made some good ones, too. I used to have an 8-track tape of Lucille Starr who did country songs in French. It was a good one. Couldnt understand a word she was singing, but music is just one language so it dosent matter anyway.

Agree with you on Edith Piaf Bighuey, a true icon, whenever I think of French music I automatically think of her.

I went to college with someone who taught me some Cajun, so I could understand all the zydeco I was trying to listen to. Beautiful, onomatopoeiac language. I forgot most of it, but still listen to Ann Savoy, Pine Leaf Boys, Cajun Strangers, etc. whenever the weather starts to warm up.

My favorite song today is "Made in Korea", which I don't think has been recorded yet...it's a love song, written about a guitar. Plus "Back to Front" (KInks), 'cause I really wish I could play drums like that!

I don't know The Sundogs, I don't think. Worth checking out?
I was gonna see Cajun Strangers at a local fest (Wisco code for: valid excuse to start drinking before noon) back in September, but it got rained out.
Favorite songs for all time today: Sailin' Shoes--Little Feat, and Psycho--Nick Curran and the Nitelifes. AND Hey Dikki!--Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe
How perfectly goddamned delightful it all is, to be sure.
