I am not religious person, like at all, and therefore I am not plagued by those existential questions. As such I won't be reading this book, but good l luck with believers.

of course it is possible that we cannot consider our creator like a common thing. Because it is the matter of God and His creatures and he kn0ws it better.

This book is portrayed as one which would be helpful in providing answers for people who want to know about God and his dealings in the Bible. Thankfully, I have more than enough material to help me with these, and I'm nor seeking to add more. Thanks for the review.

Hi, Acwoolet
By your previous review I can get a clear idea about what William K. Ruffling is trying to transmit through the pages. I must admit I felt hesitant at first, when you mentioned the eternal question about if a God exists or not. But, as I continued reading I started getting a sense on how the author used a combination of different factors, those you described throughout the review, to make the reader feel engaged and unproblematic in such a sensible topic such as the Bible.

As an atheist I have no interest whatsoever to read this book. I will have to pass it, but congratulation with BOTD, anyway!

It is great when one can read a book about one’s religion and be edified by the writing skills and personal experiences of the author.

It is even greater when an author can share the fundamental teachings of his own religion with non believers, or with followers of other religions/beliefs, and yet grab their attention, without quoting his own scripture.

A nice book to remind us to reflect and keep thinking of God's love for us, giving Jesus to us to save us from ourselves. Congrats to the author for having the heart to write a book so helpful especially at these times!

I am definitely adding this to my list of books to read! I am very interested in learning more about God but have not read the Bible, so I am glad to hear you can read this book without having read the Bible. I also like the author’s writing style and how it keeps you immersed throughout the book. Thanks for the great review!

I read the title of this BOTD and groaned. I have no interest in religious material, but I read the sample anyway because I am a firm believer that every book deserves a chance to be read. So, I start out with the sample and, at first, I was pleasantly surprised. The way this book is laid out is interesting and the philosophy was interesting to read as well. Unfortunately, I made it through half of the sample and just could not go on. Reading all of that scripture fatigued me so much that I lost interest and even began to become resentful of the words. I gave it an honest try, but this book is not for me. Thank you for the wonderful review.

As a very proud atheist, I am sick and tired of seeing religious themed books make the Book of the Day list. With that being said, I would probably still read this book and believe that there is no God. Yet I do think this book could offer insight as to the origin of different religious beliefs, so I will say thank you for informing potential fans of this book.

It is sometimes difficult to understand the ways of God but his grace is unending. I will love to read this, and using it as a guide to understanding the Bible better will be an achievement. Great book, awesome review.

It sounds like this is a very well written and organized book. It sounds like it is marketed for Christians who may be feeling shaky in their faith or looking for confirmation of their beliefs. It doesn't sound like it would do much to sway agnostics or atheists who are looking for more proof than scripture to discover the truth of whether a God exists.

Each subject is given its own well thought out chapter, with an introduction to what the subject is and what it would mean for the reader, scripture to back up what the author is saying, and occasionally a nice little story or anecdote. The author also dives a bit into the original meaning behind certain words and why they have been used in Bible.
I was going to pass on For the Love of God; but when I saw that this book contains footnotes and covers original meanings of words in The Bible, I changed my mind. Thanks for the informative review!
